🐠 Cruise lines are committed to protecting ocean and marine habitats, supporting initiatives and groups working to clean up beaches and coastlines, as well as restoring coral reef ecosystems. 🐳 Cruise ships are also utilizing innovative technologies to minimize underwater noise and vibrations, and rerouting or reducing vessel speed in sensitive marine life areas. 🛳️ #WeARECruise

⚡ The Mediterranean's first operational onshore power facility has been inaugurated in Valletta, Malta! Onshore power supply allows ship engines to be switched off at berth for significant emissions reduction. 🟢 CLIA champions the advancement of onshore power infrastructure as an important component in the industry's pursuit of net zero emissions by 2050 and supports continued development of cost-effective infrastructure for clean shore-side electricity in ports where cruise ships call when the net impact delivers an overall emission reduction. 🛳 #WeARECruise

An historic moment for the cruise industry, as the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners recently named Seabourn Cruise Line's new Seabourn Pursuit, marking the first time Traditional Owners have named a ship. The day-long celebration and naming ceremony were thoughtfully planned to honor Wunambal Gaambera Country and people and Kimberley region, and offered guests opportunities to immerse themselves in the Aboriginal culture and history. "This is a wonderful maritime tradition, and today is extra special for us because we asked the Wunambal Gaambera to be the ship's godparents, which marks the beginning of long sustainable partnership between our brand and this community. We know our guests visit these wonderful places in the world because they believe in the transformative power of travel, and today we celebrate exactly this." 💬 Natalya Leahy | President, Seabourn Full story ▶ https://lnkd.in/es8vgkbG 🛳️ #WeARECruise | CLIA in Australasia Photos: Seabourn
