Time’s up for ‘last warnings’ to prevent climate breakdown: we’re heading past 1.5 ºC. The extraordinary measures our leaders must now take to limit damage can’t be summoned by activists alone. We need massive public motivation – and routes to action that are accessible to a majority of people.
In fact, most people are already concerned about climate change, and governments’ inaction. Starting with realism about the true depth of the crisis, we work to build their sense of shared identity as the Climate Majority – and increase opportunities to turn concern into powerful action. The Climate Majority Project supports, connects and incubates citizen-led initiatives for urgent climate action to accelerate their work and grow their impact.

„I‘m sorry, but I tried.“
This is the minimum that I want to be able to tell my kids in the future, and unfortunately, it is what many of us will likely have to say.
The video below hit hard for me, and in a time of new record heats and wildfires, I figured it was a good moment to share it.
Everyone reading this should ask themselves what you will say to future generations about your activities in these crucial times.
Hopefully, you at least tried your best.
Like Stuart Capstick, the former deputy director at the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) in Cardiff, who wrote this letter.
Lets hope it does wake up some people in current times as well.
The Climate Majority Project-lead Climate Courage Campaign (https://lnkd.in/dAwQQedF) is looking for a manager to coordinate across campaign partners who are asking the UK government to create the environments for climate education that the next generation needs. This means environments that they are psychologically supported, aware that they are part of a global majority, and can play a role in the climate response. The campaign manager will help to bring what have mostly been successful volunteer efforts to the next level for the equivalent of three days a week.
THE MANAGER WILL SUPERVISE AND COORDINATE VOLUNTEER TEAMS CONNECTED WITH:
-Reaching teachers.
-University and scientist outreach (coordinating with CMP’s emerging academic initiative, ‘Change course’).
-Mental Health Professional outreach.
-Media/Film as a vehicle for the campaign.
-Liaising with and building partners(hips), i.e. youth-led initiatives, major green orgs, etc.
The Manager can add immense value: for we already have in most cases the people ready to do the jobs sketched here: they just need co-ordination and activation.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
-Is good at organising
-Has previous campaigning experience
-Can work across cultures (most importantly socio-political ones)
-Has previous demonstrable interest in the ‘inner’ (psycho-spiritual) dimension of social change
If you would like to apply, please reach out to [email protected]

“Sometimes people get put off because they think, ‘I'm not committed enough’ or ‘I'm not pure enough’” - but you don’t need to organise climate protests or quit flying to make an impact.
Individual actions are “only one tiny part of the jigsaw... Much more important is what we do together.”
Whether it's monitoring flood risks with your neighbours, #rewilding with people from your place of worship or leveraging your professional skills and network, #collective action has the power to move the needle.
“When you get enough of all of this adding up… the idea is to eventuate in change at the national and international level.”
Ultimately, he says, it’s down to governments to help us make greener choices, for example by incentivising green modes of #transport and disincentivising air travel. But for this to happen, the silent majority need to find their voice."

🐛 Throughout society, attitudes to #climate are transforming. Too slowly, we may think: too little, too shallow, too late. But time and again we humans are poor predictors of the shape and scale of the change that is to come; blind to what’s emerging around us. We’ll suggest, in fact, that the sort of climate movement we need to see is not only desirable but close to inevitable. The question is how quickly it can arise. 🦋

"Can the needs of the planet be reconciled with the need for economic growth within our capitalist economy? This is one of the biggest questions that divides sustainability researchers. Broadly speaking, there are three main positions in this debate: green growth, degrowth, and growth agnosticism (or “a-growth”)."

Dr. Rupert Read said, “On the day when the new Labour Government presents its Kings Speech - whose overarching mission is said to be removing barriers to economic growth - we in the Climate Majority Project publish this piece by Dr. Michael Albert, on ‘growth agnosticism’. Albert’s weighty piece provides a brilliant counterpoint to the new officially sanctioned fixation on growth, asking what the cost (to the Earth, to the future) of such fixation may be, and suggesting instead a perspective which, while not hostile to growth, transcends the long-standing debate between growth and its critics. I commend this timely article to you.”

This unique show blends searing drama and insightful debate, through sharing three vividly imagined versions of our future, and inviting you to explore and discuss the climate crisis in close-up.
Each show will be accompanied by opportunities for responses by audiences and key figures in climate emergency thinking including visionary eco-philosopher Prof Rupert Read, whose book: This Civilisation is Finished inspired Steve to write this drama.
We've had some incredible audience feedback and write ups. Most excitingly we presented our play to the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association - the farmers related hugely to our story which put them front and centre of the climate and nature crisis. What will it take for our relationship to food, farming and land to change for the sake of our collective survival?

As the new Labour takes office, they confront a nation woefully unprepared for looming climate shocks - an uncomfortable truth reflected in the deafening silence on adaptation within their own manifesto.
Crucially, a cross-party climate majority now dominates Parliament, with many in opposition eager to see the new government take bolder strides on the critical climate agenda. The imperative now is for the government to swiftly bridge the chasm between rhetoric and readiness, recognising the compelling need for robust climate policy to address our climate emergency.
