While they await approval, it is uncommon for EU lawmakers to reject such measures. These rules primarily target "generic environmental claims" like "green," "nature's friend," "nature-friendly," "energy-efficient," and "biodegradable." Products will need to demonstrate outstanding environmental performance to make such claims. The move to ban carbon-neutral claims aligns with the EU's broader mission to transition the economy towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
