Floyd Woodrow is the founder of Compass For Life and a former Special Forces Soldier who delivered unparalleled success over a full career with 22 Special Air Service Regiment (SAS). He was awarded a DCM, the second highest gallantry award, for work in Iraq, and an MBE for work in Afghanistan. He was graded in the top 1% of SAS officers. In the last few years of his career, he was responsible for coordinating and developing high level intelligence-based security solutions in the UK and Middle East and finished his service as the Head of the UKSF Counter Terrorist Wing where he developed a nationally recognised training programme for the government. Floyd has worked alongside Seal Team 6 and Delta on operations and training. After leaving the military Floyd set up his own businesses and now leads Quantum Financial Holdings, a leading UK fintech investment incubator, delivering regulated financial solutions across a range of core products including state of the art security innovations, this includes a lifestyle and media company. Floyd was recognised as one of top 20 UK Fintech CEO’s by the financial technologists magazine. Alongside this Floyd has developed a leadership consultancy and has worked across the world developing elite leadership programmes with teams in the private and public sectors, as well as education and sports. Compass for Life was founded 15 years ago by Floyd, and now comprises a network of highly trusted and experienced navigators who have spent their lives pursuing excellence and forging future leaders. Floyd recently set up the Compass for Life Foundation which has been created to help the most disadvantaged children in the UK bridge the educational gap that currently exists. Having worked with these children through the years to help them discover their Super North Stars, we asked how they were putting their strategies into action to make their dreams a reality. 🧭 Our aim is to deliver a Compass for Life Student Day to 1,500 pupils from disadvantaged areas to help more children bring their own dreams to life. The Education Policy Institute 2020 report states that disadvantaged pupils in England are on average 18 months behind their peers in academic attainment by the age of 16. At the current rate, the study says it will take 500 years to close the gap. We’ve made it our mission to do something about it. Today, the Compass for Life Foundation is launching a new campaign to fund a team of highly experienced coaches who will visit selected schools to deliver leadership sessions, share practical tools and hand out supporting materials to 1,500 pupils across the UK. Your generosity will make a difference to pupils and young adults’ potential to become resilient and well-rounded adults ready to navigate life successfully which, because of their current/local circumstances, is already challenging.
