Every 40 seconds, someone dies from suicide; tens of millions more live with mental health conditions for which there is no good standard of care. Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is one of these conditions. A lesser-known subset of major depressive disorder, TRD is believed to affect more than 100 million people around the world*. People living with TRD have tried at least two different treatments within a depressive episode without success, with the chance of response decreasing with every subsequent treatment. More needs to be done to change this. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we hear real stories from people living with TRD. *Reference: McIntyre RS, et al. Treatment-resistant depression: definition, prevalence, detection, management, and investigational interventions. World Psychiatry. 2023 Oct;22(3):394-412.

Some of the most difficult-to-treat mental health conditions, including treatment-resistant depression (TRD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and eating disorders, have very few treatment options. However, steps are being taken to a bring about a paradigm shift that could help to change the future of mental health for the millions of people who urgently need new options. Our CEO, Kabir Nath, explores this need for new treatments in the mental health space in the Spring edition of Pharmafile. Read more below.

Congratulations to Arcadis and thank you for all of your work in making this happen.
It was really wonderful to receive an award for 5 Windsor Walk - Project of the Year for Refurbishment at the Design in Mental Health Awards on Thursday. https://lnkd.in/gKAcftCH The project is one of the first standalone facilities in the UK dedicated to accelerating psychedelic research in the form of Psilocybin. A hugely innovative new model of care.
