  • Come to our Annual Conference and explore…Building a socially just society ⬇️ Many trusts were originally founded to operate in areas with high levels of socio-economic disadvantage and challenges including child poverty, family destitution and serious youth violence. The Harris Federation, one of the oldest trusts in England, sees part of its mission as challenging disadvantage and disrupting the status quo of inequality. In this session, Sir Dan Moynihan, Chief Executive of the Harris Federation, talks to Natalie Perera, Chief Executive of Education Policy Institute, about closing the disadvantage gap and striving to reduce youth violence. Ethnic diversity in schools in England remains a challenge for all of us. In our new discussion paper, we explore National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER)'s research and look at practical feedback from CST member trusts and other sector colleagues about their approaches and challenges. The paper seeks to offer some concrete steps that school trusts can make to take real ownership of encouraging diversity, and to encourage innovative thought about new approaches to recruitment, retention and progression and, importantly, governance. • Thousands of students will today receive their exam results across A Levels, AS Levels, T Levels, and Level 3 VTQs. CST congratulates them and their teachers on their hard work and achievements. CST Deputy Chief Executive Steve Rollett said: "Behind these results are years of hard work by students and teachers, exploring and discovering knowledge that makes our world tick. "Whatever students choose as their next step - perhaps further study, perhaps into work - we want to congratulate them on their achievements and celebrate the power of education to make all of our lives richer, to open up opportunities and new futures."
