Is siloed working holding up innovation in your business? In today's competitive and disruptive environment, innovation is more crucial than ever. However, many businesses struggle to nurture a culture of innovation. CEOs and senior teams often lack a clear picture of the barriers to innovation within their companies. These could be management approaches, leadership sponsorship, communication issues, or a lack of tools and processes. Without understanding these roadblocks, creating an effective roadmap for innovation is challenging. While innovation is a top strategic priority, a clear path to building capability and measuring progress is essential. 💡DM me or contact us via the link if you need help with creating a productive culture in your workplace: https://lnkd.in/gMq7UnSm #Innovation #EmployeeExperience #Leadership #Collaboration #CultureChange #EmployeeEngagement #BusinessGrowth

A fantastic read by Bruce Daisley on the importance of psychological safety, viewed through the lens of penalty shootouts. At Culture Consultancy HQ, we’re all set for a team social this evening to watch England's semi-final match!⚽️💪🏽 . Remembering that psychological safety is as important for mental health as it is performance- we wish the whole country a psychologically safe day whether at work, in the pub or on the pitch.

Massive congratulations Kate & Karen on a fantastic launch! The event's energy was truly inspiring. Thank you for your kind words. The Culture Consultancy team have enjoyed working with the #OneHarworth team. We look forward to seeing your culture grow and support your big ambitions.🙌
Absolutely brilliant all-employee event yesterday in Birmingham, along with my colleague Karen Greville I was proud to officially launch our new Culture Vision, Values and Behaviours Framework! A project 18 months in gestation: heaps of data, analysis, engagement and fine tuning involving everyone in some way, shape or form. And now it’s time to bring this next evolution of our culture to life; embedding our values and behaviours into our everyday interactions. Appreciation to Culture Consultancy who have been our critical friend at every step of the way; providing collaborative, structured and expert guidance, coaching me to lead an incredibly complex project through all the usual ups and downs, and going the extra mile to help us achieve our goal….we know we have a super strong culture and we want to make it even better. 💪 Because companies with clearly defined and lived cultures outperform and are more financially successful than their peers. “High performing companies strive to create a great place, for great people to do great work” - Marilyn Carlson #culture #workplaceculture #greatplacestowork

When does your company need more than one culture? ⬆️We’re increasingly being asked about micro cultures: what are they? Are they right for our business? What are the downsides? Is this something you’ve noticed as a trend too? Deloitte did a piece about “Orchestrating workplace micro cultures” earlier this year (see link in comments👇) which is quite a good read. I think micro cultures can work really well in certain circumstances. Trying to create a monolithic culture isn’t always the right call and can end up tiring people out or backfiring. If an organisation has distinctive divisions, discrete brands or a diverse regional footprint, micro cultures can be a great way to create (just enough) cohesion, and deliver the desired business outcomes, without being overly prescriptive. For me, the key is having enough in common so there is an identifiably shared DNA, along with the right amount of flex to recognise and retain meaningful areas of difference. In other words, delicately balancing alignment with autonomy. Micro cultures definitely should NOT be a tool deployed to avoid having tough conversations about dysfunction or poor behaviours though. After all, almost a third of new workers leave their jobs within the first 90 days of being hired (https://lnkd.in/eJvMA2WU) with the number one reason being toxic culture (https://lnkd.in/e_J9N8pE). What’s your take? Is your business adopting a micro cultures approach? According to a recent report by Women in Football, 89% of women in football experience discrimination at work. We spoke to Karen Dobres, former Director and now Special Projects Lead at Lewes Football Club - sometimes referred to as 'Equality FC' - to get her reflections and ideas on how to level the playing field. #DEI #Diversity #Equality #Inclusion #Equity

Whatever happened to moments that delight? I was doing some advisory work recently on a client's people experience (PEX) and I was wondering when we stopped talking about moments that delight? We used to talk about moments that delight in the context of enhancing customer experience and it quickly took off in the PEX space as a term to describe those chances to do something that really pleasantly surprises a candidate or employee. I don't seem to be hearing much about it now and I'm not sure why - any ideas? Market conditions seem to be difficult across a range of sectors - is that the reason? It's often the case that businesses under financial pressure will deprioritise their PEX work. Did it become too hard? In an age when personalisation of PEX is prized, is it too hard to create moments that delight because what delights one person might switch off another? I'd love to hear from people in my network about whether creating PEX-related moments that delight is still a priority in your organisation. And if not, why? #PeopleExperience #PEX #CultureMatters
