About us
Dean and Cauvin Trust is one of Edinburgh’s oldest charities, established in 1733 by merchants in the city to rescue children and young people from the streets. We continue to work to keep young people from living on the streets and focus on working with young people aged 15 – 21 as they make the transition from being looked after and accommodated to living independently in the community.

We are delighted to announce the opening of our brand new house at Chestnut Wynd in North Edinburgh, custom-built to support care-experienced young people. Our new facility allows us to provide specialist care and support to help residents towards adulthood, education, and work. This is something we've been working towards for a number of years, and we'd like to thank everyone who has helped make it a reality, including Harbour Homes Scotland and CCG (Scotland) Ltd. We'll be sharing more from our new facility in the forthcoming weeks!
We were delighted to hear of the recent opening of the custom-built house in Granton, a shared accommodation facility that forms part of a new, large-scale development in north Edinburgh delivered by CCG on behalf of Harbour Homes Scotland. Developed in partnership with Dean and Cauvin Young People's Trust, five care-experienced young people up to the age of 21 will have en-suite rooms, a range of shared living and wellbeing spaces and gardens, as well as access to support from Dean and Cauvin's staff who will work with each young person to help them on those first steps towards adulthood, education and work. A fantastic initiative and one in which we were delighted to play our part!
