On behalf of our founder and Chief Excitement Officer Dr Bola Abisogun OBE (Hon DUniv, Hon MBA) as we close out an amazing eight (8) months since our incorporation earlier this year (April 2023) and as we look forward to an exciting and hugely impactful 2024; we do so in recognition of ‘our why’. First and foremost, we are an #EdTech company, complete with #charitable values, aiming to #serve, #empower and #upskill others in the spirit of genuine #peoplefirst solutions; aligned to the three pillars of the Centre for Digital Built Britain – #GeminiPrinciples: #Purpose #Trust; and  #Function Second, we are all about #collaboration and #innovation, and that is why we intend to 'positively disrupt' and influence the existing methods of traditional learning styles and processes. We believe that EVERYONE, regardless of their #socioeconomic background, should be afforded an opportunity to learn at their own pace and in their own unique style. #PRESSRELEASE Following an insightful and energetic #BoardMeeting last Friday [21.06.24], kindly hosted by our Chair IJ Samuel and kindly supported by our new advisor Kurt Hintz, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Deputy #CEO, Nessa Primus. With a wealth of experience, having served at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for over (2) two-decades, we are excited about the breadth and depth of ‘#cultural #competency’ that she will bring to the role, recognising our direction of travel, both domestically in the UK and overseas. Our founder and #ChiefExcitementOfficer, Dr Bola Abisogun OBE (Hon DUniv, Hon MBA), had this to say:   “The #BuildingSafetyAct received #RoyalAssent on the 28 April 2022, not too long after I completed my #sabbatical at the University of Cambridge / Centre for Digital Built Britain. Literally a year later the DTSA was born [in April 2023]. This year [April 2024] saw the introduction of ‘ground-breaking’ reform(s) now giving #residents and #homeowners more rights, powers, and protections; all of which fits well with the ambitions of our #Academy. At the DTSA we are keen to adopt the ‘spirit of the Act’ and (akin to #professional #CPD) ensure that the UK #construction sector [and everyone of the circa. 3million contributors working within it] observe ‘the Act’ by adopting a documented, evidence-based, process of #continuousimprovement. However, it is patently obvious to many, that our biggest barrier, towards any form of meaningful and sustainable success, is our #culture; it’s a people challenge. #ICYMI In honour of every single victim and family that continues to await the results of the final report of the #GrenfellTragedy we stand in solidarity, given the continued delay, and remain poised to support the #construction industry in both its legal and moral obligations, now founded in the #BuildingSafetyAct (#BSA2022). Notwithstanding, today [07.06.24] and barely a year after incorporation, by our Founder & Chief Excitement Officer, Dr Bola Abisogun OBE (Hon DUniv, Hon MBA) we are celebrating a critical milestone in our journey of value creation. Exactly one week ahead of the 7th Anniversary of the sole reason for our ‘modus-operandi’, we have finally secured via the Executive / Leadership Team at OCN London _ our ‘Endorsed’ status for all things #DigitalConstruction. Amongst other things we are now gearing up to deliver #DigitalEngineering #Apprenticeships across #London and wider afield, as we endeavour to support and equip learners of all ages, ethnicity, and capability, on the new landscape of ‘regulatory compliance’, in a post-Grenfell world. “Since its inception in 2014, the #MoU programme, generously funded by Trust for London and City Bridge Foundation, has been instrumental in creating pathways to quality jobs for young Black men in London, aged 16 to 24. It has been a key feature of our work with partners in London Borough of Newham and Brent Council, offering support and opportunities for a better future. As MoU approaches its final phase, these awards serve as a platform to recognise the outstanding efforts of those who have championed the cause of youth empowerment and #race #equality. ARE aims to use this occasion to showcase to funders how targeted, culturally appropriate support, and a collaborative approach are crucial to tackle unemployment disparities for young people from Black, Asian and mixed heritage backgrounds.” _ Source: the Action for Race Equality website [16.10.23].
