The RIBA Journal has published a wonderful piece documenting our first visit to Voysey House since the original tenants completed their move back into the Grade II* Listed building. dMFK completed the restoration, repurposing and upgrade of CFA Voysey's iconic former wallpaper factory earlier this year. It was lovely to see how well the building works for the new occupiers - the fabulous Sanderson Design Group plc. Meet dMFK's summer intern, Raj. Raj joined us via Local Village Network, a charity that helps young Londoners discover careers and industries that they might not otherwise be aware of. They also give them the know-how and confidence to take advantage of opportunities within these industries. Over the last three years, Local Village Network has been given funding by Islington Giving and Macquarie Group to offer paid work experience to students like Raj, enabling him to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. #internship #outreach #architecture #careers Rachael Box

Hamilton House has been shortlisted in NLA’s New London Awards 2024. Our refurbishment of the spectacular Grade II listed structure for Dorrington PLC has been recognised in the 'Retrofit' category of the awards, which celebrate high-quality projects that positively contribute to life in our capital. Originally built in the 1880s, the interiors had evolved into a series of dark, foreboding spaces following a series of successive interventions. dMFK's transformative retrofit has reimagined Hamilton House as a bright, amenity-rich workplace destination, offering a mixture of shared spaces and private offices. Winners will be announced in November - fingers crossed! dMFK design team: Dagmar Heiman Joshua Scott Julian de Metz Photography: Jack Hobhouse #NLAwards24 #awards #hamiltonhouse #retrofit #refurbishment

What do recruiting architecture practices look for in a portfolio? Sana Tabassum hosted a workshop in dMFK's studio at 76 Charlotte Street to help students and young jobseekers find out. The event provided attendees with the opportunity to sit down with our architects and receive bespoke feedback on their developing portfolios, as well as advice about applying to creative roles in the built environment more generally. Sana is a multidisciplinary designer and the founder of :scale archi-community, a blog, platform and community that aims to help students be productive in a healthier way. We'd highly recommend following her daily updates on Instagram → @to.scale. She shares some fantastic content. Thank you to Sana for making this happen, plus to all of the dMFK mentors and attendees for taking part. We hope everyone found it useful. dMFK mentors: Vincent Sze Chun Chan Isobel Eaton Alice Chilangwa Farmer Jonny Wong Neill Nevin Thomi Steliou Photography: Yaman P. #careers #architecture #portfolio #design #workshop

dMFK's Hollie Welch has been promoted to Associate Director. She has been involved in the design and delivery of some of the studio's most exciting projects over the last eight years, including an 80,000 sqft retrofit across three floors of an iconic 1980s Canary Wharf building for The Office Group, the transformation of a 5,000 sqft medical lab into offices for Derwent London and two large-scale commercial fit outs for clients Landsec and British Land. Congratulations Hollie! #promotion #careers #architecture #dMFK #architect
