You’ve probably seen that the UK government has announced plans to back nearly 100 AI projects across the country with a £32m funding pot.  DrDoctor, AI is in our DNA. It’s encouraging to see funding for organisations with the ability to effect positive change within healthcare. What’s not making headlines is how more  investment is needed in operational AI to improve back office productivity, improve the patient flow, and reduce long (and growing) waitlists. For the UK to become an AI superpower, it needs large-scale funding, backed by a strong policy foundation and governmental support. This starts with an overhaul of the system to boost efficiency and improve outcomes for patients.
