Not an April Fools' joke—Nissan is testing a groundbreaking paint that cools cars, reducing the need for air conditioning and boosting energy efficiency. In Japan, Nissan has teamed up with Radi-Cool Japan and All Nippon Airways to trial this 'cool paint' on a Nissan NV100 service vehicle at Tokyo International Air Terminal. Early results are impressive: the paint drops the exterior temperature by 12 degrees and the interior by 5 degrees, cutting down on the need for air conditioning and making the car more energy-efficient. Nissan is showing that even paint can play a role in creating greener, more efficient vehicles. Hyundai has announced a refresh and shake-up of its IONIQ 5 electric car For want of a better description, the new IONIQ 5 has had a bit of botox, some of the more angular lines and corners have been smoothed out to give a more rounded and tapered appearance. Otherwise it still retains the main aesthetic of the original. Alloy wheel designs have also been updated and there's now a choice of 11 exterior colours to select from.
