Happy World Environment Day, June 5th! Are you ready to take a step towards making a real difference in the world and in your own life? Our Certificate in Conservation Management is just what you need to get started in a career in conservation or ecology, without having to pay expensive university fees. The course involves a three-day field course to teach you practical skills such as: · Breeding bird surveys · Butterfly surveys · Reptile surveying · Freshwater invertebrate surveys · Small mammal trapping · Invasive species · Habitat management examples, and much more! Our students love spending 3 days meeting their fellow course-mates and spending time with like-minded people, immersing themselves in the countryside and hands-on learning, and Here’s what our students have to say: “The Certificate in Conservation Management Field Trip was a fantastic opportunity to practically apply the knowledge learned through studying. Sue was an excellent teacher in all respects. Her enthusiasm for the natural world encouraged each student and fostered a positive atmosphere throughout the field trip. Sue truly was a fountain of knowledge and was always on hand to help with any questions. I left the field trip feeling very motivated and inspired about my future career in conservation.” – Louise For more information, visit our website: https://zurl.co/mw6c #conservationmanagement #conservationcareers #ecologycareers #conservation #conservationuk #careerchange #careers #landmanagement

Botany is Back! Botany underpins most of what we do in ecological consultancy. Without a reasonable grasp of botany we cannot identify and map habitats, spot endangered or invasive species, or make comments on other animals’ behaviour and habitat. Now is the perfect time to practice your botanical skills, or get started with learning botany. Check out our beginner’s botany course, and our Grass ID course if you need to brush up! If you’re more of a hands-on person we have several Beginner’s Botany courses being held throughout the summer at various locations in the south of England. Check out our website for more details! Do you want to learn how to survey for reptiles? This is a useful skill for anyone wishing to get into ecological consultancy, or who wants to work more with wild animals. Reptile surveys are fun and exciting, and learning to do them gives you a really good, marketable skill to add to your CV. If you want to learn more about reptile ecology and surveying, why not join us for the day on 21st of May in beautiful Somerset. We will go through how to identify UK species of reptile, how to handle them, survey for them and write mitigation strategies to help protect them. If you can’t make it to the face-to-face course, why not try our online Reptile Ecology and Surveying course that will give you all the information without the practical element.
