Their professionalism, eagerness to learn, and ability to dive right into the work were truly commendable. 🎉 It has been fantastic to see how quickly they all adapted and contributed with such enthusiasm, bright ideas and thoughtful questions. Say hello to Lydia Wright ACCA👋 Lydia is a Senior L1 here at Elsby Chartered Accountants. She joined us in our bookkeeping department, and over the last 4 years has developed herself, joined the accounts team, and progressed through our accounts department from a Junior up to the Senior accountant she is today.   Lydia first decided to go into the world of accounting during her GCSE's, where she picked subjects she felt would support her with her career choice. After completing her A-levels, Lydia joined a small local firm as an apprentice, where she started AAT. Lydia moved to Elsby & Co after a few years, where she then finished her level 4 AAT. Lydia then decided to do her ACCA with the full support of Elsby & Co, and thanks to her hard work and many hours of study, has now qualified as an accountant! Wahoo! Lydia enjoys getting to know her clients and helping them out with anything from day-to-day transactions, to year-end accounts to tax returns. Lydia also loves to support her trainee, Matthew Strachan, training and guiding him, enabling him to develop in his role. ⚠️Companies House warning on registered address rules⚠️ Changes to the registered office addresses rules mean that companies must have an ‘appropriate address’ as their registered office or face fines of up to £1,000. Under the new rules, all companies registering with Companies House must ensure their address is an ‘appropriate address’ which means that in the ordinary course of events: 👉 a document addressed to the company, and delivered there by hand or by post, would be expected to come to the attention of a person acting on behalf of the company; and 👉 the delivery of documents there is capable of being recorded by the obtaining of an acknowledgement of delivery. If the company’s registered office address does not meet these requirements, this means the address is not appropriate. Companies House is able to take action against the company and its officers if they break the rules.
