It's come about by being open to appointing and electing the best and most committed in our field. I'm temped to say it's as simple as that but many organisations do seem to struggle. By coincidence, it's almost exactly the same proportions as in our exec team and across our whole staff. And IMHO it makes us all more effective, more interesting and more human. I am deeply honoured to have been elected as President of the Energy Institute today. The Institute is a global body of energy professionals and companies which has set itself a mission to help accelerate a just energy transition for all. Today there are few global challenges more important than this!   The Energy Institute, led by Nick Wayth CEng FEI FIMechE, delivers an excellent blend of energy information, technical and safety leadership and guidance as well as training and development to a broad stakeholder base including its membership of 20,000 energy professionals, 200 partner companies as well as key decision makers and consumers across the world.   The activities of the EI are well summarised in the attached video that was launched in today’s AGM.  https://lnkd.in/eUpTRsmM   I am inspired by what has been achieved to date under Juliet Davenport's Presidency, but at the same time daunted by the size of challenge we all still face. I am convinced the Energy Institute can play an even bigger role in the future as more consumers, professionals and companies try to work out what their role can be in driving a just energy transition.  I just hope I can play my part in supporting the Energy Institute in fulfilling its crucial mission!
