Rounding off the month of June, Equitix hosted two very different events in celebration of Pride. Today we had the pleasure of hearing from three speakers from the infrastructure industry and LGBTQIA+ community at our London HQ attended by almost 100 of our team. Our speakers gave us much food for thought and helped us on our journey of understanding and inclusion; Colette Comerford, Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging at Ashurst. Amongst many other accolades, Colette is a Lead Role Model Ambassador for LGBT Great and was named a Top 10 LGBT+ Trailblazer at the 2023 British LGBT Awards; Tomas Freyman, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP and Ellie McBride, manager at Grant Thornton and both within the Infrastructure Sector. Ellie is an active members in Grant Thornton’s LGBTQIA+ community working group and Tomas joined us as a passionate ally. We also arranged an evening of Drag Bingo with the fabulous Kyran Thrax for an evening of fun and team building. Enormous thanks to our fantastic speakers and to Liv L. and Katrina Auguste for organising these events. #team #pride2024 #inclusion #diversity #belonging #culture #infrastructuretolife

Equitix has reached an agreement to buy a further stake in Hydro Dolomiti Energia (HDE) from Macquarie Asset Management in a consortium of Equitix Euro Funds, Tages Capital SGR, and La Finanziaria Trentina together with local industrial co-investors and institutions. HDE operates 29 hydropower plants across the Italian province of Trento, representing 1.3 GW of installed capacity. HDE’s hydropower plants produce electricity to power the equivalent of approximately one million homes annually. Hugh Crossley, CEO, said: “Equitix is very proud to be investing in HDE, which is critical to Italy's energy security and a major energy transition asset. Italy is a core market for Equitix where we have been investing in infrastructure and renewable energy for more than a decade. We also look forward to continuing our collaboration with our friends and fellow shareholders at Dolomiti Energia Group, where we have been a shareholder since 2021.” The transaction with the Consortium is subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, including a last-look pre-emption right which may be exercised by Dolomiti Energia Group. It is expected that the transaction will reach financial close by Q4 2024. Congratulations to our team particularly, Michela Ghirardini, Zainab Arshad MRICS and Marco Sebastiani. #infrastructureinvestment #italy #greentransition #infrastructuretolife

Yesterday, Equitix hosted its inaugural charity cricket tournament with 7 other corporate teams in Dulwich, south-east London. Teams from PwC, Lazard, CMS, Ashurst, Augusta & Co, Schroders Greencoat LLP and Alvarez & Marsal gave their time and energy to put on a show of sportsmanship to raise funds for our chosen charity, Chance to Shine - a sporting charity which inspires school aged children through cricket. With the teams' help, we raised over £31,000, part of which will go towards schools which Equitix owns and operates and have been identified by Chance to Shine as meeting their criteria for support. The charity supports over 600,000 children annually, helping them to find a sense of belonging through sport, developing their wider wellbeing and life skills to help fulfil their potential. Supporting Chance to Shine aligns with the Equitix Foundation's objectives to support charities whose communities are impacted by Equitix assets. Congratulations to the winners, Lazard, seen here lifting the trophy and well done to all the players and our home team. #team #charity #culture #cricket #impact #lastinglegacy

Equitix CEO Hugh Crossley completed the Norfolk Superhero quadrathlon on Saturday, a charity event consisting of a 1-mile open water swim, 4-mile kayak, 45-mile cycle and finishing with an 8-mile run across the marshes and sand dunes. No mean feat! He managed to complete the course in 5.52 hours and raised funds which will be match funded by the Equitix Foundation, amounting to £4,000 raised  for the charity, Burnham Overy Harbour Trust (BOHT). https://boht.info/ Burnham Overy Staithe’s salt marshes and creeks in Norfolk are a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to their unique biodiversity, range of ecosystems and large number of habitat specific plants. The BOHT is raising funds for the vital work involved in restoring the creek. This will primarily involve the restoration of the groynes which are crucial in preventing the creek from silting up, as well as taking important measures to reduce erosion of the marshes. The Superhero fundraising will fast-track this major restoration project which may otherwise take many years to complete and secure the fragile and important landscape for the next generation. Congratulations, Hugh. An inspirational achievement! World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. It aims to drive ambition towards improving land conditions globally: https://lnkd.in/gUEwre3 In recognition of today and as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we share one of our asset's biodiversity action plans, on M25 water monitoring with ConnectPlus. In response to the National Highways biodiversity plan, M25 has undertaken pollinator enhancement projects at two sites. This includes re-seeding 800m2 of grassland with a wildflower mix containing a Kidney Vetch plant which is eaten by the Small Blue Butterfly, a near threated species in the UK.  It also focused on a second site as a habitat for the Striped Lychnis Moth, identified as being a most threatened species and requires conservation action under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. Contact us to find out more. Small steps can create big results. * Every $1 invested in ecosystem restoration is estimated to result in up to $30 of ecosystem services. * Strategically restoring 15% of converted land could avoid 60% of expected species extinctions. * Ecosystem conservation has important climate benefits, including GHG emissions absorption and natural resilience to climate events. #generationrestoration #worldenvironmentday #infrastructuretolife Pictured: M25 Biodiversity site
