Meet Jane Hague, the UK Sales Director for the Convene portfolio of brands. Tasked with growing the business and cultivating key client relationships, Jane manages a dynamic team of sellers across our UK venues. At just 17, Jane began her career as a restaurant waitress in the scenic Yorkshire countryside, whilst later pursuing Hotel Management in her hometown of Sheffield. After graduating, she moved to London, stepping into a role as an Account Executive at ExCel. Here, Jane was instrumental in boosting the destination’s profile, laying the foundation for a successful and enduring sales career. Now? Our chefs have been working hard to bring summer dishes to life by using fresh, in-season ingredients like strawberries, peaches, and tomatoes. Vibrant in both appearance and taste, our recipes not only reflect the season but also have attendees and delegates feeling nourished and energised for the day ahead. Giant Couscous, Coronation Chicken, Roasted Pineapple, Toasted Sunflower Seeds, Grilled Peaches, and flavourful vinaigrettes are here to excite, replenish, and pay homage to the season.

How time flies! Our 155 Bishopsgate venue turned 10 years old this summer, but it only seems like yesterday since we opened our doors for the venue’s launch party. Since opening in 2014, our venue near Liverpool Street Station has enjoyed welcoming guests and delegates for everything from large-scale events to private meetings and brand exhibitions. At full capacity the venue can accommodate up to 1,000 people across the two floors. So what’s new? Since becoming a Convene location in January 2024, the venue has gone from strength to strength; with new furniture and interior updates as well as a full network replacement to enhance connectivity. What was already an inspiring place to host events has now become an even more appealing proposition for organisers. The journey so far has been incredible, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next chapter of one of our most visited venues in the City of London.

Meet Daryl Jones who recently joined the Convene portfolio of brands as Vice President of UK Operations. Daryl oversees site operations for all Convene and etc.venues locations in the U.K. including venues in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. Daryl joins our team with nearly 20 years of experience in the lifestyle hospitality industry and brings a pedigree and passion for delivering high-quality service. Prior to joining Convene, Daryl spent time as the Regional Operations Director at Soul Foods Group, a franchise of brands such as Starbucks, KFC, and Taco Bell. He also enjoyed a successful period working at Côte Brasserie, a hospitality-driven restaurant group inspired by the bistros of Paris. We are proud to have someone of Daryl’s merit and conviction leading our UK operations.

Inspired by Korean cuisine and created by Chef Matt Moran at Convene 22 Bishopsgate, the Gochujang Glazed Short Rib is a classic dish with a modern twist. Using the rich depth of Gochujang, this mouthwatering recipe is the epitome of sweet-savoury perfection.
