At Europlacer, the PCB tracking starts right at the printing stage with our S-Track feature on the ii-P7 screen printer. Although starting the traceability at the placement process is easier and more directly oriented towards the addition of components, it brings along several disadvantages in the form of delayed problem detection, incomplete traceability, and increased rework cost. In contrast, #traceability starting from screen printing is able to identify any anomaly at a very early stage of the manufacturing process. It accomplishes: ▶ full traceability throughout the entire production process, ▶ enhanced #quality control, ▶ effective solution of problems and reduced production downtime, ▶ compliance with regulations, and improved inventory management. Hence, traceability directly from screen printing benefits much more in maintaining high standards of quality and efficient #SMT production. And you? This week, Quentin, our Product Manager, and Sylwia, our Applications Engineer, visited our customer Honeywell in the UK. They spent some time talking and sharing knowledge. His attitude and prognosis is very good and we are all confident they will rid him of it, but I will now also be riding with him in mind, too. So, even though I signed up to do the whole 2-day event this year (182 miles), I have been hesitant to announce fund raising efforts to the public, in fear that generous people would donate money to this worthy cause, but I might not be able to actually participate in the race. The result is that I am WAY behind in raising the $6,000 that I have personally committed to and I need to start today. Why I ride… My closest living relative, Tom Gilroy, has been getting treatment for an aggressive glioblastoma for the last 2 years plus. He has endured more than I can share but has done so with the inspiring love and support of his family, an inner strength and dignity I couldn’t imagine to have, and the amazing work of Dana Farber Cancer Research group, who are responsible for hundreds of modern day, targeted therapies for all types of cancers. The PMC bike-a-thon that over 6,000 riders participate in every August, has raised close to a billion dollars toward their efforts and I am proud to be just one their supporters. Fundraising Impact: The PMC is the largest single athletic fundraising event in the U.S., raising more money for charity than any other event of its kind. 100% Donation Model: Impressively, 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC is not just a ride; it’s a powerful movement towards a world without cancer.
