About us

F1 in Schools is a not-for-profit social enterprise aiming to change the perception of STEM-related subjects through global competition. Students aged 9-19 take part in a multi-disciplinary challenge in which they must use professional CAD software to design, analyse, manufacture, test, and race miniature compressed air-powered car from a model block. Many students have gone on to have fruitful careers with F1 teams, founded on their success in F1 in Schools.

    Meet Max Poulter 👋 F1 in Schools was a pivotal experience for Max. After a successful season in 2013, he secured work experience with JLR and Aston Martin F1 Team 🏎️. This opportunity paved the way for his dream role as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology, one of Formula 1’s most legendary teams 🏆. Max recently spoke to the next generation of engineers at this year’s UK National Finals, reminiscing about his favourite memory—building his first car and seeing all his hard work materialise 🥹. He also highlighted how F1 in Schools taught him the importance of teamwork, stakeholder management, and the multidisciplinary nature of real-world engineering 🛠️.
