Another day, another event to celebrate the Levenmouth Rail Link! Fife Council’s Roads and Transportation Service organised a superb Levenmouth Rail Schools Event at the Savoy Centre in Methil, with around 400 pupils from 10 local primary schools taking part in a range of activities to not only highlight the rail link but also the benefits of walking, wheeling and cycling as the new active travel network continues to take shape. Pupils from Aberhill, Coaltown of Wemyss, Denbeath, East Wemyss, Hyndhead, Kennoway, Lundin Mill, Mountfleurie, Parkhill and St Agatha’s took part in various workshops throughout the day, and they were treated to a fabulous display by The Clan, Scotland’s Cycle Stunt Team. We also partnered with K107FM to give the youngsters a taste of life on the airwaves, with the local radio station also capturing some of the pupils’ views about the rail link as part of a wider audio project. A huge thanks goes to everyone taking part, in particular Muckmedden, PeachyKeen, Bikeability, Active Schools Co-ordinators, East Fife Community FC, Safer Communities, Green Action Trust, Police Scotland, ScotRail, British Transport Police, MCCI, and the Community Development Team.
