City Hall has won best fit-out (£2 million and over) at the 2024 Architects’ Journal Retrofit and Reuse Awards! ‘This confident transformation brings warmth and coherence to something that could have easily been vacuous and cold. It is very clever indeed,’ said one judge. Designed by ARCHITECTURE 00 with Fletcher Priest, the new home for the Mayor and London Assembly exemplifies a successful #relocation and #repurposing project that minimises waste and prioritises reuse to offer functional #civic spaces and #offices. Urban greening | Adjacent to London's iconic #Barbican Estate, Verdant at 150 Aldersgate is approaching completion. 👀 Our deep #retrofit will see 135,000sqft of #workspace occupied by TikTok as their new London headquarters. The proposal repurposes a tired, dark, and dated 1990s office building into a high-quality workspace with external amenities on all levels and densely landscaped roof terraces, including a richly planted ground floor lightwell. “It’s all about creating a sense of joy for the tenants. The multiple gardens and terraces on each floor had exactly this in mind throughout the design process and build," explains Partner Joe Sweeney.
