We're the government’s housing and regeneration agency. We help create affordable, quality homes and drive regeneration.
About us
As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, we believe affordable, quality homes in well-designed places are key to improving people’s lives. We help make this happen by combining our powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and build more quality homes. We achieve this by forming long-term partnerships that bridge the public and private sectors and by using our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed. We also use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting building safety. Together, with our partners, we’re accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country. However, our ambitious and exciting agenda can only be achieved through collaboration and commitment. Whatever your role in the built environment, we’re your partner in housing and regeneration and we’re here to help. We’re the #HousingAndRegenerationAgency. Following the publication of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper, Homes England has also been tasked with a core role in spearheading regeneration, partnering with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities across the country to ensure communities reach their full potential.

An exciting step forward for Northstowe - we've appointed TOWN. to deliver a new cohousing community that will put residents front and centre. With 40% affordable housing, shared spaces, and a co-design process with future residents, TOWN's development will build on the success of Marmalade Lane, a cohousing community that it recently delivered in Cambridge. As the master developer for phases 2 and 3 of Northstowe, we're committed to supporting the long term development of the new town, helping it to grow into a thriving community of around 10,000 new homes and 25,000 people. "The whole sector needs to be firing to meet the affordable housing challenge." Peter Denton, Chief Executive, Homes England Last week, we brought together some of the country’s leading experts in #regeneration and #affordablehousing as part of an agenda-setting panel discussion. We set out the challenges, tackled some of the blockages, but also reflected on the opportunities which come with delivery. Chaired by Jane Groom (London Communications Agency), the panel featured Peter Denton (Homes England), David Joyce (Haringey Council), Will Gardner (Home Group), plus our own Elizabeth Oliveira and Duncan Cumberland.
