The global IT outage was a wake-up call for the world, with estimated insured losses of around US$1bn: https://ow.ly/7Il750STzZy Rapid response from IT and incident response teams have helped to contain costs, but it is still likely to be one of (if not) the biggest losses for the cyber insurance market. The incident has reinforced the relevance of the product by indemnifying losses and assisting clients with incident response services. Since the global IT outage, we have seen heightened risk awareness, and an increased demand for cyber insurance, particularly from SMEs.
