There are many reasons why we think you should submit a proposal to speak at the IATEFL Conference, but you may be wondering what are the benefits for you. We’ve put together a list of how speaking at IATEFL can benefit your professional experience: ▶️ Share your ideas By speaking at the IATEFL Conference, you have the opportunity to share your ideas, research, products or experiences with a global audience. Delegates from over 100 countries will be there to learn and develop as ELT professionals. They want to hear new ideas and be able to take them back to their own contexts. This is the perfect opportunity for you to add your voice to an international discussion. ▶️ Share your products or services If you have something you want to promote, or you just want to get the name of your business out there, you’d also be very welcome. There’s a place on the proposal form to let us know if you will be promoting anything so delegates can be well informed before they arrive at your session. Many of the delegates attend the conference to find new resources to share with their colleagues back home, so they want to hear about what you can offer them. ▶️ Get published in a peer-reviewed publication Each speaker is invited to submit a write-up of their session to our annual peer reviewed publication, IATEFL Conference Selections. We send a copy of this to every IATEFL member around the world, and it is available for purchase from the IATEFL shop. ▶️ Make key connections The conference is attended by teachers, trainers, managers, freelancers, lecturers, materials writers, publishers, examiners, trainees, researchers, ministries of education, universities, teacher training colleges, national teaching associations and many more. As a speaker, you will have your name and workplace printed in the Conference Programme so anyone interested in what you do can come to your session to make a connection. ▶️ Get support in your preparations For anyone who feels they need a bit of extra support in preparing their presentation, we offer a mentoring scheme. With a dedicated team of experienced ELT professionals ready to help, you’ll be matched with someone who shares your professional interests and given the chance to meet with them virtually to discuss your session.
