Yesterday three members of Team Scotland Penny Johnstone Hannah Sally and Helen Allan walked 13 miles around Loch Leven alongside 77 people in the development/housebuilding industry in aid of Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). It was a beautiful sunny day to raise funds for this great charity and to catch up with colleagues. £5K has been raised collectively and any further support would be most welcomed. https://lnkd.in/eb5KMKeG CHAS provides palliative care, family respite and support throughout Scotland including dedicated bases in Aberdeen and Inverness.

A beautiful fresh morning for a walk - a number of the IceniProjects #tribe along with some of our clients will be walking 10 miles to raise money for LandAid (the property industry charity, working to end youth homelessness in the UK). We'll be stopping off to admire some of the projects #IceniProjects have been involved with and taking in (what's probably) the last of the sunshine for a while. We'd value your support. Any donations would be very welcome to help those most in need particularly as the colder weather sets in. https://hubs.ly/Q02PPdpG0

Iceni projects is delighted to have co-authored the West Midlands Strategic Employment Sites Study 2023/24 with Mace, Knight Frank and MDS Transmodal Ltd. This sets out recommendations for large scale industrial and logistics sites across the West Midlands looking to 2045 and including the potential release of some 1,000 ha of land to drive economic growth. Whilst it will be for authorities to consider the findings further in their Plan making, the publication is timely regarding the NPPF consultation in terms of an emphasis both on the function of logistics but also in terms of strategic planning. https://lnkd.in/eC8Fnxdm

Iceni's Manchester office attended the Place North West Greater Manchester Development Update last week. It was insightful to hear from a range of speakers discussing what is slowing down development in the region. No surprises that viability and planning were top of the list. Though there was positivity about the potential reforms to the NPPF. Don't forget, the government's consultation closes on the 24th September!

Earlier this summer Ark Build Plc held the topping out for the beautiful fit out of Strand Union Workhouse building in Camden on behalf of UCLHcharity. Despite constraints around glazing, brickwork, energy efficiency, and insulation associated with developing such an unusual historic structure (not to mention the burial ground at the rear!) the finish of the retrofit is absolutely outstanding. The Workhouse was redeveloped the financial viability of the wider scheme, to facilitate much needed health services, MRI scanners and affordable housing. The completion of the structure builds upon and solidifies the established legacy of the site; it has been wonderful to be part of such a special project. Iceni Projects

Thurrock Foodbank have been supporting the local community in South Essex for over a decade. Last year, over 10,000 families engaged their services and sadly it appears the trajectory is only going in one direction. The team of tireless volunteers do an amazing job in keeping this critical service running like clockwork. Today, some of the Iceni Projects team got to work in the local warehouse helping to organise, categorise and pack supplies. Thanks for having us Ceri and for sharing your insight into this valuable lifeline. If you’re able, TFB are always thankful for donations of any size: https://lnkd.in/dpvgDDUX
