Highlights from the 2024 Africa Regional Event in Tanzania▶️ We're excited to share a video from one of our six impactful regional events held in Tanzania. In celebration of World Skin Health Day, the ILDS and ISD supported educational and impactful events across Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America, West/Central/South Asia, and East Asia & Pacific. These events, which took place on and around #WorldSkinHealthDay, brought communities together to promote and advance #SkinHealthforAll. Don’t miss out—watch the video now! ✨A bit about the event: Standing Voice, in collaboration with the RDTC and the Tanzania Albinism Society, and with special guests from the regional medical office, hosted a 10-day Skin Cancer Prevention Programme in the Mbeya region of Tanzania. This initiative provided free dermatological services to over 320 individuals with albinism. Participants received essential free services including skin screenings, treatments, health education, and sun protection items. This issue is packed with valuable insights and practical guidance for healthcare professionals working in resource-limited settings. We feature several articles addressing various skin diseases and conditions, including an article highlighting a previous DermLink grants project on podoconoisis in Ethiopia, two articles providing in-depth instructions on wound management in low-resource areas; a discussion on integrative medicine treatment of lymphatic filariasis; an instruction on how to enhance photography skills in resource-limited settings; and an article introducing the WHO’s skin mobile application as an educational tool for frontline health workers.
