THIS is the magic we're building at Fabrik! Nothing beats real life, genuine connection with other humans. Zach Hawtof and Ruthie Berber are two of the best collaborators and leaders out there! I couldn't have asked for a better team to put together our Soiree.

Below is an 11-second video. Please do not click "...more" until you watch. There is something incredible, and I want you to notice. → Not a single soul is on their phone. One of my favorite parts of working on Tightknit is helping host events like our Community Builder's Soiree last night. GenAI might be taking over sales, service, and marketing, but community needs to be human—always. Digital or physical, nothing beats connection. Thank you to everyone for the kind words you left us with, and thank you to my two incredible cohosts, Ruthie Berber of Led by Community and Derek Kastner of Fabrik. We made a remarkable team. Want to feel it? Watch the video with the sound on. I am still buzzing 🙂

You might be a Community Builder without realizing it. Community building isn't just a job title—it's something many of us do without noticing. Here are five seemingly simple ways you might already be making an impact: 1. Celebrating and Connecting: Whether it's a friend's birthday celebration or introducing colleagues, your enthusiasm and social connections bring people together, fostering a sense of belonging. Even something as simple as organizing a potluck dinner can create a warm, inclusive atmosphere. 2. Sharing and Supporting: By offering skills or insights, from mentoring to helping a neighbor, you create a supportive environment that thrives on shared knowledge and mutual aid. Lending a hand with a home project or sharing a family recipe contributes to a sense of community. 3. Engaging and Attending: Participating in local events or supporting community businesses reflects your investment in the area's well-being and identity, strengthening community ties through active involvement. Attending a neighborhood cleanup day or the local block party shows your commitment to maintaining a vibrant community. 4. Listening and Advocating: Your empathy and understanding when listening to others, along with advocating for positive changes, drive transformation and inclusivity, enhancing your community's resilience. Simply listening to a friend over coffee as they share their challenges can be a powerful act of support. 5. Inspiring and Enabling: Through positivity and dedication, you motivate others to engage, creating safe spaces for open discussions, and ensuring everyone feels safe and encouraged to participate. A small act like starting a book club can inspire others to join and share their perspectives. These traits are essential for a community builder, and small actions can create a big impact. Share your experiences in the comments: How do you foster community daily? If you're curious about how others use their community-building superpowers to align with their passions, check out some of our upcoming gatherings and sign up to experience a free week of Fabrik, where you can start exploring how to do the same. Wellness isn't just about always pushing forward; it's equally important to take intentional moments to rest, reflect, and recalibrate. In our busy lives, prioritizing productivity can lead to burnout. Taking time to pause through activities like yoga, meditation or journaling allows us to reconnect, reassess goals, and rejuvenate our minds and bodies. Finding a balance between action and rest is key for sustainable wellness and personal growth. Need a midweek opportunity to recharge and refocus? Join us for Wellness Wednesday, a perfect opportunity to hit the pause button. One hour of yoga, mindfulness, and deep breaths can reenergize you for the rest of your busy week. On August 21, we're teaming up with Grae Wellness (www.graewellness.com) for a refreshing morning yoga session from 10-11:30am at Fabrik NYC in Tribeca. Expect gentle poses to invigorate your body, mindful practices to bring you back to center, and the chance to connect with others prioritizing self-care in the middle of the week. Bring a mat and your intentions for the remainder of the week. RSVP here: https://lu.ma/zexzzo5f
