Kennedys Legal Tech Prize Goes to Ms Ishola Our LLM in Legal Tech and Commercial Law is the most recent LLM programme under our Shipping & Trade umbrella. One our goals – and the main advantage – of this programme is that it is taught from a practical perspective. To that end, we have recently linked ourselves with Kennedys IQ as a partner association. Kennedys IQ, combining human and machine intelligence, aims to produce platforms and solutions for various industries within the commercial sector, including insurers, shippers and brokers. Apart from assisting us in the delivery of the programme, Kennedys IQ has launched a Prize for the best LLM student studying our AI in Commerce and Legal Practice module. This year, the winner of this inaugural Prize was Oluwakemi Lethecia Ishola. Ms Ishola hails from Nigeria and has worked as a legal counsel in several law firms prior to undertaking her LLM at Swansea. As part of the award, Ishola will be offered an internship at Kennedys IQ during the summer. The Prize was presented to Ms Ishola at the London offices of Kennedys at a reception. Ms Ishola was accompanied by Professors George Leloudas and Barış Soyer and had the opportunity to meet all the key members of the Kennedys IQ including Deborah Newbury (Corporate Affairs Director) and Richard West (Head of Innovation, Partner, Kennedys). Speaking after the event, Professor Leloudas, module director of AI in Commerce and Legal Practice, said: “We are incredibly proud of Kemi’s achievement and confident that the internships will assist her continued growth in this field. We are also thankful to Kennedys IQ especially to Ms Joanna Manthorpe (Senior Corporate Affairs Lawyer); Mr Joe Cunningham (Product Manager, Kennedys IQ) and Dr Harvey Maddocks (Lead Data Scientist, Kennedys IQ) for supporting the journey of the Institute of International Shipping and trade Law (IISTL) to contemporary and innovative areas of law.”  Dr Aygun Mammadzada, Tabetha Kurtz-Shefford, Livio Robaldo, Angela Nicholas #swanseallm #iistl
