A rookie police dog has been quick to demonstrate his prowess after helping to track down two men linked to violent assaults at a pub in #Hoo PD Boss was only introduced into active service nine months ago, but officers are already benefiting from his training after a pursuit led to him finding one suspect hiding in long grass. We were called shortly before 10.50pm on Saturday 10 August, to a report that three people had been assaulted following an altercation at the Five Bells pub in Stoke Road. It is alleged the two suspects ran from the scene, after one of them had also broken into an upstairs room and attempted to steal a CCTV device. Patrols attended, assisted by PD Boss, and the men were tracked through a nearby cemetery, which led to a field next to Vicarage Lane. PD Boss located the first suspect trying to hide in the field, before the second man quickly identified himself. The suspects, both 39 and from Manchester, were arrested and taken into custody. They are currently bailed, pending further investigation.

PCSO Kirsty Greaves recently won the 'PCSO of the Year' award after developing the initiative 'Fish Fest'. PCSO Greaves identified a positive way to actively deal with ongoing issues of illegal fishing, littering and ASB at a lake in Maidstone through regular community engagement. After discovering that several young people were willing to engage and learn more about the sport, she gained youth services support and funding to start the fishing programme. This has led to a reduction in calls and positive feedback from both the young people involved and the wider community. Are you ready to make a difference in your community?
