 🎉 We've got another announcement! KiActiv® has been shortlisted for Science & Engineering Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA)'s Advances in Digital Healthcare Award. After being nominated in the same category at last month's Medilink North of England Healthcare Business awards, we've done the double and have had another of our innovative projects recognised by the Science & Engineering Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) awards set to take place in May. A huge congratulations to our clinical partners at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust Long Covid Team for their continued dedication to delivering the best possible care, and to Health Innovation East for making the initial collaboration possible. Here's to supporting many more people in the region to gain unparalleled insight into their energy levels, pacing and fatigue in the context of their Long Covid recovery. As 2023 comes to a close, it’s time to celebrate everything that we’ve achieved this year on our mission to rethink exercise and make everyday movement a medicine. We’ve supported 1,686 people, from 10 NHS ICS regions, to optimise their physical activity in the context of their health, capacity and surroundings. With an age range of 17-94, the average being 53, we’ve shown that there’s no barriers to movement being medicine and empowering sustainable behaviour change. We’ve continued to demonstrate the highest level of evidence for our digital service, presenting the results of our groundbreaking randomised clinical trial in Cardiac Rehabilitation with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Amsterdam and being published in the European Heart Journal. Our unique approach enables us to provide objective measurement of behaviour change and physical activity. We’ve invested in further R&D, working with the University of Bath to create novel methods of analysis that extract even more value from our continuous physical activity data. In total we’ve empowered people to do an additional 46,456 hours of physical activity above their baseline, improved quality of life, mental wellbeing and reduced medicines, GP appointments and hospital visits. There’s so much more impact beyond the statistics, with countless personal stories, and we can’t wait to keep building and growing through 2024. Happy New Year from the KiActiv® Team!

It has always been our vision to start at home, supporting the NHS and improving the health of thousands of people through our work across long term conditions and rehabilitation. The vision doesn't stop there though. Rethinking exercise and making everyday physical activity a medicine is a global mission and our evidence from the NHS to-date is our springboard. It was great to be part of this fantastic event and to present to Japanese senior healthcare leaders, investors and ministries. Stephanie Ashmore, Director of Trade and Investment at British Office, said in the opening remarks: this showcase is a fantastic opportunity for the UK companies to connect with local Taiwanese businesses, exchange ideas and learn from each other’s experience. Taiwan’s advanced ICT industry has provided a solid foundation for the development of this sector. The UK is eager to share the experiences in the regulation and adoption of new technologies and dealing with emerging challenges, to improve the quality, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare. It’s #WorldHeartDay and our cardiac rehabilitation research which was presented at European Society of Cardiology Congress last month. It’s the the result of years of hard work rethinking exercise for rehabilitation pathways, which can transform access and outcomes globally. Making everyday physical activity a medicine has already helped thousands of people in the NHS, and we continue to build our footprint.

Amazing work by everyone at KiActiv® and our clinical partners at NHS Liverpool University Hospitals. Getting published at the European Society of Cardiology Congress is no mean feat! Pretty excited about what these clinical outcomes mean for rehabilitation services more widely, particularly amongst those unwilling and/or unable to access existing face-to-face offers.
