Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, Stu Alderoty, has recently ramped up his attack on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Alderoty said that the SEC’s approach to describing cryptocurrency products as ‘crypto asset security’ is deceptive and has no legal basis. This allegation was made when the SEC employed this term in a legal context. SEC sought to classify numerous crypto assets as securities. As Alderoty notes, the term “crypto asset security” does not have a legal definition. This means that the SEC is using it to bend the law to its will. However, he argues that this term may confuse judges and cause them to give prejudiced legal verdicts. https://lnkd.in/ehRRTAkM #LegalTechTalk #LegalTech #Legal #Law #Crypto

Alpha Dapp, powered by VX Technologies, is a blockchain-based record service designed to empower people and records, serving as a bridge from Web2 to Web3. Alpha Dapp’s solutions facilitate data publication to the blockchain, ensuring secure, transparent, and tamper-proof record-keeping and data management. The latest launch from the Alpha Dapp suite of solutions is a user-friendly AgreeMint contract management platform (CMP). The CMP is designed to alleviate the common pain points experienced today with contract execution using word processing programs or more tailored applications such as DocuSign. “In many industries, contracts are still managed with Word documents and basic signature tools, which unfortunately allows signers to modify terms before signing and returning the document,” Justin Pauly, VX Technologies President, told CoinGeek. “Some of the biggest challenges with DocuSign lie in its pricing structure, user interface, integration complexities, and lack of flexibility. Alpha Dapp’s AgreeMint addresses all of these issues head-on,” he said. https://lnkd.in/eW4ejrHV #LegalTechTalk #LegalTech #Legal #Law #CLM
