We called the report “Changing Learning, Changing Lives” because of examples like this - LEO Academy Trust is making it possible for every child to break free of whatever individual barriers they face. Every Child Really Does Matter.
International Education Manager at Texthelp for Education, a part of the Texthelp family. Removing barriers to learning for more inclusive education.
Do you have a student like Freddy in your class? A very bright, very articulate student but with some challenges with reading, writing and engaging with classroom content. A student whose #Dyslexia or other learning differences is holding them back, making it difficult to focus on reading, to produce lengthy written content and leading to stress, anxiety or even school refusal? Fortunately for Freddy, his school introduced devices and a suite of inclusive software tools including Texthelp's Read&Write and OrbitNote as part of their digital strategy. These tools have allowed Freddy and his peers to engage in independent learning on their own terms. As you can hear in this short video, Freddy is excited by his learning. He's not held back by his writing ability, and instead uses tools like speech to text for higher quality writing output. He can independently chunk long texts and assignments using tools like screen mask and screen rulers to prevent being overwhelmed. These tools and more are helping Freddy and all his classmates in so many ways. Necessary for some, useful for all. As someone described our tools to us this week, "it's like having your own learning support assistant for each child in your class", at their fingertips. https://lnkd.in/gQb5sXAy #InclusiveEducation #Neurodiversity #Neurodivergence #DigitalStrategy #AssistiveTechnology Emma Dallimore (NPQEL, BSc, PGCE) Cheryl Shirley Graham Macaulay Phillip Hedger Danielle McKernan Patrick McGrath Gustavo Ebermann Richard Michael Hayley Butler Emma Darcy

Teacher helping embed diverse role models across schools and develop a strengths-based approach to support personal development. | Resource content writer | Trainer and Speaker. Flood resilience campaigner.
Brilliant to see the work of LEO Academy Trust being recognised here. I've attended the Digital Discovery days that have been held this year and seeing PedTech in action in the classroom has been amazing. What's blown me away the most has been that the support given to SEND pupils becomes invisible. Inside the classroom, you can't immediately tell who is being supported and in what way. All the pupils access the tech to support their own learning in the way that they need - empowering to say the least.
