Our recent event delivered in partnership with Association for Geographic Information (AGI) Scotland and The Data Lab Community was a great overview of the importance of geospatial data across multiple sectors. Our speakers included Alan Moore from Idox plc, Zoë Russell of Rethink Carbon, Ryan Ciesielski from National Grid, Gala Camacho founder of Diagonal Works, Justice Osei Akoto from The Scottish Government. The talks explored the importance of geospatial data from land management systems through to road safety, whale watching, climate change and local neighbourhoods. Can anyone in the LDS community help Ryan Ciesielski with his request about Geospatial Data Discovery Apps or Tools?

The National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) was launched in Northern Ireland earlier this year. It includes data from gas, electric, water and telecommunications companies. This is a big step towards the platform being fully operational by the end of 2025, with the minimum viable product now covering all intended nations. NUAR will reduce the time it takes for planners and excavators to access the data they need from on average 6 days to 6 seconds. This will improve efficiency and safety of works whilst also giving citizens more of their time back.
