We were given very short notice by Transport for London to operate a six-day rail replacement service. Thanks to our dedicated team of Drivers and Garage Allocators, and with the leadership of Giles, our Commercial Manager, we successfully relaunched into the rail replacement market. In an impressive feat, we commenced the 720 Rail Replacement service within just five hours of notification. Operating between Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction (via Harrow on the Hill, Headstone Lane, Hatch End, Carpenders Park, Bushey, Watford High Street). Operating from Saturday – Thursday, 03 – 08 August 2024. A huge thank you to our driving colleagues for their unwavering support and considerable efforts. We quickly mobilised our teams to assist TfL with their rail replacement services over the weekend, in addition to the other rail replacement commitments we had. Women in Bus and Coach is excited to announced its working with Transport for London on a major survey, that will be carried out at bus garages across the country, to ensure that future bus cab designs are inclusive for all drivers. Behavioural Researchers from transport innovation and research specialist TRL will visit operators in cities including London, Edinburgh Manchester, and Bristol, to talk to drivers about the current design of cabs, in order to understand what modifications may be required in future design briefs. An excellent day with over 40 local people plus the excellent team at RATP Dev Transit London, Transport for London & Richmond council reps! It is so important that local #DisabledPeople are given the chance to share their lived experience and trial new tech to make sure it is the right solution. From wheelchair users, visually impaired, Deaf and hearing impaired, people with guide dogs to those with #HiddenDisabilities - today was about providing a safe space for all to share.
Great to be hosting the Ruils Independent Living Charity at our RATP Dev Transit London Fulwell Bus Garage. We will be looking at a new proposed ramp design which incorporates edge protection upstands. This could improve the safety of passengers utilising the ramps on our vehicles. Our thanks to PSV and Transport for London for supporting the event today - working collaboratively for the benefit of our passengers.
