A Day of Joy and Learning: Year 6’s Unforgettable Trip to Flamingo Land At M7 Education, we believe in the transformative power of experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Recently, we had the immense pleasure of funding a Year 6 trip to Flamingo Land Theme Park, and the joy and learning that unfolded during this day were truly remarkable. The excitement among the pupils was electric as they embarked on their adventure. The weather might have been rainy, but it did nothing to dampen their spirits. One pupil shared, "I didn't ever care that it was raining - it was one of the best experiences of my life!" This sentiment perfectly captures the magic of the day. The accompanying teacher beautifully articulated the impact of the trip, saying, "Their excitement and joy were palpable, and it was heartwarming to see them enjoy the rides, learn about the animals, and bond with their classmates. The memories made during this trip are truly priceless, and we owe it all to your kindness and support." It is heartening to know that our efforts have not only provided fun and adventure but also fostered learning and strengthened friendships among the pupils. The teacher continued, "Your contribution has had a significant impact, and we cannot thank you enough for making this experience possible. We look forward to the possibility of working with you again in the future to create more wonderful opportunities for our pupils." This trip to Flamingo Land is a shining example of how time out of the classroom can create unforgettable experiences for young learners. By stepping out of their usual environment and engaging with new challenges and discoveries, these pupils have broadened their horizons in ways that will benefit them for years to come. At M7 Education, we are committed to continuing our mission of enriching the lives of pupils through unique and impactful experiences. New blog post www.m7education.org.uk Forestdale School Pupils Experience Viking Life! At M7 Education, we believe in bringing history to life for children through immersive and educational experiences. We were thrilled to recently fund a trip to Bishops Wood for the pupils of Forestdale School, where they had an unforgettable Viking Day. The journey began with an adventurous trip across the northern seas in a full-size Viking longship. Upon arriving at the Saxon Hall, the children were transported back in time to experience the daily life and skills of the Viking era. The activities were hands-on and varied, giving each child a chance to engage with history in a personal and meaningful way. The pupils had the opportunity to learn and practise several traditional Viking and Saxon skills. They crafted brooches, spun wool, and made clay pots, just as the Vikings did. Each activity was designed to be both educational and enjoyable, ensuring the children were fully immersed in their learning experience. Inside the Saxon Hall, the pupils gained a unique perspective on what life was like during this time. They discovered the central importance of fire in Viking daily life and learned about the social structure through the layout of the sleeping arrangements—where children often slept on the floor while adults enjoyed the beds if they had the means. One of the highlights of the day was when the children used natural materials to build overnight shelters. This activity was not only fun but also taught them about the resourcefulness and survival skills of the Vikings. It was a great opportunity for the pupils to work together, think creatively, and appreciate the challenges faced by people in the past. The feedback from the pupils of Forestdale School was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing their favourite moments: - "I liked it but the best part was making shelters and having lunch." - "I liked when we saw the house because we learnt that children slept on the floor and adults slept on the bed if they had enough money." - "I liked making the clay pots." - "I liked the whole day." - "I liked it because we didn't have to wear uniform and it was a fun day." - "I liked everything because it was fun and adventurous." - "I liked spinning wool to see what a Viking would actually do." The Viking Day at Bishops Wood was a resounding success, bringing the Saxon and Viking times to life in a way that textbooks simply cannot. At M7 Education, we are committed to providing such enriching experiences that spark curiosity and a love for learning in children. We look forward to continuing our mission of supporting educational adventures that make history engaging and accessible for all pupils. Thank you to Forestdale School for allowing us to be a part of this memorable day, and to all the pupils who participated with such enthusiasm. Stay tuned for more exciting events and opportunities from M7 Education!

New Blog Post at www.m7education.org.uk A Day at the Seaside: KS1 Workshop with Jolly Good Workshop At M7 Education, we believe in the power of immersive learning experiences to bring history to life for our students. Recently, some Key Stage 1 pupils had the delightful opportunity to participate in a special workshop led by Jolly Good Workshop, focusing on the theme of the seaside. This fun and educational session transported the children back in time to explore the fascinating history of the British seaside. The workshop began with a comparison of the seaside as we know it today versus how it was in the past. The children learned about the evolution of seaside towns, from small fishing villages to bustling tourist destinations. They discovered how innovations in transportation, such as the advent of the railway, made seaside trips accessible to a wider population, transforming these areas into popular holiday spots. Jolly Good Workshop captivated the students with stories about the history of the seaside. They explained why people began visiting the seaside for leisure, including the health benefits believed to be gained from sea air and seawater. The children learned about the early days when the seaside was seen as a place for health and wellness, a trend that began in the 18th century and gained momentum through the Victorian era. The workshop also touched upon the significant impact of the Industrial Revolution on seaside holidays. With the rise of industrialisation, more people began to have the financial means and leisure time to take holidays. This era marked the beginning of the British tradition of the seaside holiday, complete with promenades, piers, and beach huts. Entertainment has always been a key feature of the seaside experience, and the workshop highlighted several classic seaside amusements. The children learned about traditional games and activities, from sandcastle building to the thrill of riding a donkey along the beach. No exploration of seaside history would be complete without mentioning the iconic Punch and Judy shows. The highlight of the workshop was undoubtedly watching a live Punch and Judy performance. The children were enthralled by the antics of Mr Punch, Judy, and their friends, laughing and cheering along with the traditional slapstick humour. This interactive show provided a glimpse into the past when such performances were a staple of any seaside visit. Our recent KS1 workshop with Jolly Good Workshop was a resounding success. It not only educated the young students about the rich history of the seaside but also provided them with a memorable experience filled with laughter and learning. At M7 Education, we are committed to offering such enriching opportunities that spark curiosity and foster a love for history and culture in our students. We look forward to more such engaging workshops in the future!
