We do whatever it takes to get to a landmine before another child does — working with communities across the world.
About us
MAG's vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict. We have worked in more than 40 countries since 1989, to save lives and build futures by: ► Reclaiming land contaminated with the remnants of conflict, such as landmines, cluster munitions, bombs, shells and mortars. ► Finding ways to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians. ► Creating safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the ICBL (International Campaign to Ban Landmines), for its work to ban landmines.

MAG will be in Brighton this weekend for the Liberal Democrat Conference, as UK party conference season gets underway. If you are there, join us on Sunday to hear our Middle East Regional Director discuss conflict and malnutrition alongside our partners at United Against Malnutrition, Action Against Hunger and The Lib Dems in International Development. Over the next few weeks, we'll be talking to MPs across all parties about the rise in conflict globally and how the UK Government can help tackle these challenges.

The Cluster Munition Monitor 2024 is out now. Last year, civilians accounted for 93% of all casualties recorded and we see every day the devastating impact of these indiscriminate weapons. As the 12th Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions begins today, we urge all nations to join and uphold the Convention. “The prospect of a new home in a bomb-free area fills us with hope, knowing our children and grandchildren will be able to live without the risks that once defined our lives.” Nguyen Thi Hoa is a farmer from Cu Nam, Vietnam. In 2015, MAG cleared 22 million square meters of land around her village, removing more than 11,100 unexploded bombs. “My children used to play outside and herd cattle without knowing the dangers of unexploded bombs – I was terrified for their safety,” she recalls. “Even in my own garden, there were cluster munitions.” Today, Hoa, and many others, are rebuilding their lives and livelihoods in safety and their children can look forward to a safer future.
