As part of an immersive day focused on trading and tech insights, members of our team led students through a variety of interactive activities, including #marketmaking games, explorations into the dynamic world of #optionstrading, and #Python-based #data analysis. This #collaboration provided a valuable opportunity for students to see firsthand how their #skills can be applied in trading, finance and technology. Here's what they've been up to this week: ➡ Last Friday, they successfully completed their first #options exam — a significant milestone in their journey. This week kicked off with another intensive day of Options theory and #Volcube practice, led by the Head of Training at ZISHI. #Zishi, our long-standing partner, continues to deliver exceptional training, providing our #interns with in-depth knowledge and practical skills that are crucial in the world of trading. 👏 ➡ Mid-week, our interns had the opportunity to visit our #London office, which was the highlight of the week! They were introduced to the world of 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 and had the opportunity to meet and speak to the MD for Global Technology along with Team Leads for Data, Software Engineering, and Tactical Development. This was followed by meetings with other key members from our tech and trading teams, with the day culminating in a mock trading session. Ending with a fun and relaxed evening of networking and pizzas, the interns then had the opportunity to #connect with our team on a more personal level. ➡ Today, our interns kicked off their morning with a challenging #codility test, designed to assess their #coding proficiency. The week will conclude with a second options exam, providing a chance to gauge their progress and further solidify their understanding. They then went through their project plan and had a virtual tour of our #London office to get them started. An insightful session on the financial ecosystem, led by our Middle Office & Operations Strategy Manager, equipped them with a solid understanding of the industry's landscape. Mid-week, our Global Head of Trading introduced them to a dynamic trading game, which laid the foundation for their practical learning experience. This class was complemented by a Q&A session, where interns could deepen their understanding and clarify their understanding of the subject in preparation for their assignment. Interns started with an in-depth exploration of options theory and practical applications using #Volcube, in collaboration with our partners at ZISHI. The expert tuition of Zishi's Head of Training provided our interns with invaluable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of complex trading strategies. Shifting gears to technology, this morning our interns participated in an interactive #Python programming class with our Team Lead, Tactical Development, enhancing their #coding proficiency and problem-solving abilities. This afternoon, they will engage in a mock trading session to apply their theoretical knowledge in a simulated real-world scenario. 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 Big City Bright Future 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗼! 🎉   Yesterday marked the final day of our #BCBF internship, an initiative by IntoUniversity, and what an incredible journey it has been! This week, our interns met with teams across Risk, HR, Legal, Middle Office, Back Office, Python Development, IT Infrastructure, Trading Application Support, Technology, and Finance.   The #interns concluded their experience by delivering a presentation on everything they learned about Mako Trading and the various teams they interacted with. It was fantastic to hear our roles described from a student's perspective, and we were happy to see how much they had absorbed. At the end of the presentation, each intern shared their future #career aspirations and expressed their love for Mako's #culture, with many saying they could see themselves joining our team in the future. Last week, we kicked off with a warm welcome & a tour of our #London office. The interns gained valuable insights into Mako's diverse roles & had the chance to meet our CEO, Trystan Morgan Schauer. They participated in sessions on compliance & recruitment & learned about our early #careers programme. Delving into the complex world of #trading, they met our Short End & Eurostoxx teams, followed by sessions with Dividend Delta, Index Prop, EU Single Stocks, & AMM. The interns then met our brilliant reception team to learn about facilities & event planning, followed by a marketing & communications session to test their #creative skills. They ended the week with Data Systems Support & Tactical Development, & a session on business development. After just one week, the interns are already gaining clarity on their career interests & actively seeking guidance from different team members to ask more questions & gain further insights. Our day session was a deep dive into the essential concepts of financial #markets. We explored #marketmaking and variance, crucial tools for effective pricing and positioning strategies. Thanks to the students' firm grasp on #options theory, we were able to move quickly through practical applications, making markets in call options based on dynamic dice rolls. The enthusiasm and engagement from the students reflected their solid understanding of market dynamics and trading principles. In the afternoon, we focused on #delta hedging, utilising #Python and #data analysis to tackle the complexities. The students rose to the challenge, producing insightful analyses on hedging efficiency! 🚗 𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 🚗 Once again, we had the honour of participating in the Hope Classic Rally; a brilliant event that blends the thrill of classic cars with the mission of supporting The Mako Foundation's main charity partner, WeSeeHope! 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. Our team had the opportunity to ride in some of the most iconic cars ever built, and more importantly, contribute to raising significant funds for vulnerable children in East Africa. The raised sum of over £200,000 will continue fuelling the transformational work of WeSeeHope, making every moment behind the wheel count!
