Sometimes things just don't work out the way you think they're going to. We exhibited at IFAT back in May this year (and what a great show it was) however, I always thought that most of the social media coverage I see on social media from these shows was just a bit generic and bland. Same stuff that no-one really pays any attention to. Maybe an opportunity to do something fun and different. A couple of days before the show, whilst sipping on a beer at a Munich bar, and after completing a full day of set up, I had an idea that I thought could be a much better way of re-capping the show and highlighting the event in a much less dreary and formal way, and offer something a bit more authentic. The idea? 10 Disposable cameras 📷 The idea was to give the cameras to other companies exhibiting at IFAT and the remit was simple - - Showcase your week - Take out for drinks/meals in the evening - Take to any stand party's you host or attend - Showcase your products - Whatever really, no holes barred - We'll collate all the photos at the end of the show and put into some sort of show reel. We managed to source the cameras just in time for day 1, so the next challenge was for me to sell the idea to 9 other companies.... Had a couple of rejections (more than used to that after 20 years in sales) but on the whole, the idea was a winner. So far so good, and we had 9 great companies joining in - Westeria Pronar WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH Turmec Vimelco Oy Vecoplan AG EDGE Innovate Nihot Recycling Technology B.V. TOMRA Fast forward to a few weeks ago once we had received all the cameras back, and developed the images..... Disaster. 90% of the images looked like a fuzzy shade of sh*t and are completely unusable! 😫 Maybe it was the lighting, maybe it was the cameras (although they were £20 each!) but either way, it failed miserably right at the last step and no amount of photoshop could help! Just a small selection of the images in question below (you'll see what I mean 😂 ) A huge thank you to all the individuals and companies who joined in and apologies it never worked out. Maybe we'll try again next time!
