Shaping the future together ✨ Yesterday, mdeducational foundation was honoured to meet with the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane at the Mayor’s Parlour in Derry, Northern Ireland. Our Director of Schools and Partnerships, Deirdre Doherty, had the pleasure of meeting with the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane, Cllr. Lilian Seenoi Barr, who graciously hosted us to introduce her new initiative: the Mayors Inclusive Youth Hub for all. From her very first week as the Mayor, it has been clear that she has a special place in her heart for young people. During that busy first week, she attended our Wellbeing Lead initiative launch and Wellbeing Hub opening at St Mary’s College - showcasing her true passion and dedication to making her council area a better place for young people to thrive and grow. She has listened to the voices of young people and committed herself to ensuring their continued support 💜 Amplifying the ideas and voices of young people, the Mayor’s new initiative is to open the Guildhall doors to young people, creating a welcoming space for everyone to come together and have fun. The initiative includes a variety of exciting events with live music, comedy and food - providing young people with opportunities to thrive and feel a sense of belonging 🎶🍕🎤 It’s been wonderful to connect with the Mayor and learn more about her inspiring initiative - showcasing our shared commitment to caring for our young people. It’s wonderful to see the dedication we share to support our young people and create a brighter future for them - through education and beyond 🦋 We are shaping the future together by pushing for change. • Practising Gratitude by Journaling 🖊️🩷   Looking for the positives every day can be an excellent way to boost your mood and recognise that there has been some good, even on a bad day.   As shared by one of our wonderful Wellbeing Leads, gratitude journaling is a fantastic way to reflect on the positive things that have come your way. Set aside a notebook and take a moment before bed to write down the positives from the day.   📝 Tips for Starting Your Gratitude Journal: 🖊️ Be Consistent: Dedicate a specific time each day to write. 🖊️ Be Specific: Focus on detailed moments rather than general statements. 🖊️ Reflect: Take time to read past entries and reflect on your journey.   Remember, it doesn’t have to be big things! Even small joys like a delicious cup of coffee, a smile from a stranger, or the sound of birds chirping can fill your heart with gratitude 🦋   Find more wellbeing workshops here: https://lnkd.in/e8kpwNSc   #wellbeing #mentalhealth #wellbeingworkshops #education #gratitudejournaling

  • Best of luck through education and beyond 🛣️ On today’s results day, our Wellbeing Leads opened the doors to their school’s Wellbeing Hubs for young people receiving their results. From the early morning, the Wellbeing Leads eagerly welcomed students into this safe and welcoming space. Throughout the day, students visited the Wellbeing Hubs, sharing their experiences and thoughts with one another. Together with the Wellbeing Leads, they spent time reflecting and supporting each other - ensuring they were taking care of their own wellbeing and checking in with peers 💜 One of the students mentioned, “Looking forward to the next chapter”, while another said, “I didn't do as well as I wanted but I'm still ok.” Other students shared their thoughts: "The hard work paid off", "I'm a wee bit disappointed but it's not the end of the world. I'll try harder next year" and "I got into Liverpool University and I'm so happy. My friends got in too". Here are some encouraging words from our Wellbeing Leads: 🦋 Your toughest times often lead to the greatest times of your life. Keep going, you'll get there in the end. 🦋 To all my students I'm just immensely proud of how far you have come. At mdeducational foundation, we proudly continue our mission for all post-16 students to feel supported in every aspect of their wellbeing, helping them on their journey to a brighter future 🌟 PS. We are incredibly proud of you all 💗 #resultsday2024 #wellbeing #education #post16 #resultsday Djanogly City Academy Nottingham St Patrick's College Maghera
