We’re a social enterprise that offers expert guidance and training to support mental health.
About us
We are Mental Health First Aid England. We’re a social enterprise with a vision to improve the mental health of the nation. Our evidence-based training gives people tools to support themselves and each other, so everyone can talk about mental health and seek help when needed. Most adults spend at least a third of their time at work, so we start there to change how society deals with mental health now and in the future. Over the last decade, we’ve provided expert consultancy and training to over 20,000 workplaces. We want mentally healthy workplaces for all. We campaign for equality between mental and physical health in the workplace. We advocate a whole organisation approach and lead by example. As a social enterprise, we reinvest our profits to support the next generation. We offer free and discounted training to those in the sports and recreation sectors working with young people. Together, let’s create a society where everyone’s mental health matters.

Our final tip for boosting your wellbeing at work this summer is to connect with your colleagues 👋 You could share your weekend or summer plans with each other, like our staff have for our Summer Wellbeing Week in this blog post: https://brnw.ch/21wLvth #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceWellbeing #WaterCoolerMoments (Video description: A heading says 'Connect'. A study by experts at University of Nottingham has found a “strong association between mental health training for line managers and improved staff recruitment and retention, better customer service and lower levels of long-term mental health sickness absence”. If you're looking to empower your people managers, or evaluate and redefine your workplace culture, speak to our workplace consultants today 🔗 https://brnw.ch/21wLuKV #Management #ManagersTraining #WorkplaceWellbeing (Image description: A quote from Dr Melissa Carr, a My Whole Self Reporter from Henley Business School, says: "Mental health training can support managers to feel confident having conversations with employees about their mental health and wellbeing. It can provide managers with the tools to have productive and supportive conversations and also to know how and when to refer people to other support mechanisms.")

As a social enterprise that is committed to being an anti-racist organisation, we know everyone’s experiences of mental health are different. To mark South Asian Heritage Month, Irtiza Qureshi, an MHFA England Instructor Member, reflects on his South Asian heritage and mental health. Irtiza will be joining Chantal S. and other special guests on Thursday 8 August, 1-2.30pm, for another instalment of our Critical Conversations series, celebrating South Asian Heritage Month. Register your place today 🔗 https://brnw.ch/21wLuod #SAHM2024 #FreeToBeMe (Image description: A quote from Irtiza Qureshi, an MHFA England Instructor Member, says: "I see my South Asian ethnicity as a privilege. I'm fortunate to have had cultural influences from Pakistan and the Indian subcontinent in my life, growing up in the north of England. Being able to understand and appreciate aspects of my identity definitely supports my mental health and sense of self." A photo of Irtiza is in the bottom right corner.)
