We are excited to announce that Mitiga is a winner of Acciona's Open Innovation Challenge, a platform launched by the world's largest clean energy provider to develop solutions to the world's urgent challenges. Renewable energies are a pivotal solution to reducing greenhouse emissions but they are themselves not immune to the effect of climate change. Solar, wind, biomass and hydraulic assets rely on resources influenced by climatic variables such as temperatures, rainfall, wind speed and frequency. Further, the lifespan of these assets means that decisions taken today on asset location and design can have decade-long implications on asset longevity and profitability. As we near the first anniversary of the ISSB’s establishment under the IFRS Foundation, our latest blog post provides an update on ISSB standards, specifically IFRS S1 and S2 and their relationship with other established frameworks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Currently, jurisdictions representing nearly 55% of the world’s GDP are either adopting or planning to implement these standards.
