Our development drivers had the opportunity to meet 13-time Grand Prix winner and More than Equal co-founder, David Coulthard at Red Bull Showrun last weekend. In the paddock, the drivers shared their stories with David, gleaned insights and tips from his journey, and got up close and personal with the RB7. As part of our commitment to developing our drivers both in and out of the car, we provide experiences that inspire and facilitate connections within the sport. A current challenge that the motorsport industry faces isn’t just getting more female participants, it’s keeping them. Our research found that women are twice as likely to retire within the first five years of their career than men. Although the reason why females are dropping out needs to be further investigated, we discovered that the discrepancy in backing, particularly financially, is a contributing reason in why more females are choosing to leave their early careers in Motorsports. We need better and earlier support for young drivers which is why we are dedicated to connecting young talent with the right opportunities. One of the ways we will do this is through our data driven driver development programme, which is currently in progress. This will provide more females with the same support, research and backing that many of their male counterparts already receive. Three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick secures the first female INDYCAR test drive since Tatiana Calderon tested in 2021, a year before her Indy racing debut. 🏁 The last female INDY NXT race winner to test an #IndyCar Series car was in 2011, when Pippa Mann took the wheel over a decade ago. Jamie’s test with Andretti Global marks a pivotal step in her career, following a historic win from pole at Road America, marking the first victory by a woman in the series in over a decade. IndyCar has a positive history of female participation.
