Mission Accomplished! The 60th Birthday Challenge to walk the Yorkshire Wolds Way has been successfully completed, with a short 4 mile walk to Filey Brigg earlier this morning. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to my walking companions who each joined me for a day. John, Lucy, Connor, David, Arabella, Amanda, Kath and David - you made being out of my comfort zone a whole lot easier. MD Andrew is taking on a birthday challenge soon - good luck to the gaffer, we hope it stays dry! ☀
Next Thursday 1st August, I am starting my 60th Birthday Challenge to walk the Wolds Way from the Humber Bridge to Filey Brigg - just shy of 80 miles. I walk slowly, weigh too much, do little exercise and I’m definitely built for comfort and not for speed! But if anyone from my wider network would like to join me for a day (the average is 10 miles, starting at around 9am), they'd be very welcome. I do have a few “walking companions” lined up already, but there are still one or two gaps remaining. I’m not doing this for charity - just in case I've bitten off more than I can chew - but One Stop Business Finance Limited will be donating another £1,000 to Rachel Mackenzie’s SANDS charity, if I complete the challenge successfully. Periodic updates will be provided throughout the ten-day trip - wish me luck!
