LEDs offer significant benefits beyond just reducing energy consumption—they also cut down on operating costs, lower carbon footprints, and have a much longer lifespan compared to traditional lighting. This means less frequent replacements and reduced waste, keeping your business both eco-friendly and efficient. Don't wait until the last minute. Make the switch to LEDs now to ensure your business stays ahead of regulatory changes while also reaping the financial and environmental rewards.

As GCSE results are out, NICEIC has emphasised the importance of nurturing young talent in the electrical industry—and we couldn't agree more! At One Way Group, we're passionate about empowering the next generation of electricians. The UK's drive towards net zero and the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions mean that the electrical sector is booming. This growth presents incredible opportunities for school leavers entering our industry through apprenticeships and training courses. Young professionals bring fresh perspectives, a strong work ethic, and a hunger to learn. By investing in their development, we’re not just filling current roles—we're future-proofing our workforce. As the energy landscape evolves, so too will the skills required, and it's essential that we equip our team to meet those demands head-on. NICEIC’s call to action is clear: businesses must step up to close the skills gap and secure the future of our industry. We're proud to be part of this journey, creating opportunities for young people to thrive and ensuring that our team is prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow. At One Way Group, we’re committed to building a brighter, more sustainable future—one young electrician at a time.

Here at One Way Group, we’re acutely aware of the national shortage of qualified electricians across the UK. While many individuals across England are eager to embark on a career in the electrical trade through classroom-based courses, a significant gap remains as too few are transitioning into apprenticeships. The latest #ElectricalSkillsIndex from ECA - Excellence in Electrotechnical and Engineering Services highlights this growing concern by comparing the number of people enrolling in classroom-only courses to those entering apprenticeships. The findings reveal that numerous regions in England are experiencing a concerning shortage of essential electrical skills. Recent research by the Copper Sustainability Partnership (CuSP) has revealed some startling statistics: the UK construction industry’s plastic waste has surged at an average rate of 210% every two years between 2004 and 2018, a growth rate 15 times greater than the EU average. This stark contrast underscores a pressing issue in our sector—our reliance on plastic materials is not only unsustainable but also significantly higher than our European counterparts. At One Way Group, we believe it’s time for a change. The environmental impact of plastic waste in construction cannot be overlooked. While the packaging industry often takes the spotlight, we, as a key player in construction, must acknowledge our role in this challenge and take proactive steps to address it. Let's join forces to rethink our material choices and work towards a net-zero future. The opportunity for sustainable growth is within our grasp, and it starts with each one of us taking responsibility.
