We are delighted to have signed a partnership with Orbith, Argentina's largest satellite internet service provider 🌎 Through this agreement, Orbith will provide fast and affordable internet connectivity to SMEs and companies; providing private data services, cybersecurity services, traffic prioritization and other critical functionalities in complex corporate projects. Commenting on the agreement, Juan Pablo Cofino, Regional Vice President of the Americas at Eutelsat OneWeb: "Broadband is still out of reach for too many people, especially in rural and remote areas. Lack of access prevents communities from realizing the social, economic, and health benefits that connectivity can offer. "Our network can deliver connectivity services to even the most remote areas, transforming the way people work, learn and live."

Introducing another new Satellite Network Portal (SNP) portal for our low Earth orbit Eutelsat OneWeb network: Luanda, Angola 📡   During Agnotic 2024, our team was honored to meet with Honorable Minister Mr. Mario Olivera of the Republic of Angola, and Mr. Joaquim Muhongo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of INACOM- Instituto Angolano das Comunicações, to officially receive and sign the authorization to activate our new ground station site in Angola. Our SNPs are critical midway points in our connection from space to Earth that enable our global connectivity. The Luanda SNP is set to enhance connectivity not only in Angola, but also for the wider African continent. Commenting on this event and signing, Eutelsat OneWeb's AMR ASHOUR, said: “The issuance of this license represents a monumental advancement in our mission to transform telecommunications. The state-of-the-art facility will significantly enhance connectivity, optimize data transmission, and offer profound benefits to both metropolitan and rural areas throughout the African continent. Welcome to Yellowknife, Northern Canada - and our new Satellite Network Portal (SNP) 📡 Last Friday, we were delighted to launch our new ground station in Yellowknife, alongside our partners at Northwestel and in collaboration with the SSC - Swedish Space Corporation. The SNP will deliver increased bandwidth, performance, and resiliency to our live services across Northern Canada and the entire Arctic region. We want to especially thank the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, Det’on Cho Development Corporation and Nahanni Construction Ltd. for their support to the use of the land and helping to make the entire buildout possible. Northwestel will continue to help operate the site and partner with us to deliver connectivity services across Northwest Canada. Remarking on the celebratory event, Howard H W Stanley, Eutelsat OneWeb's Vice President for Canada, said: "This achievement is a result of the hard work and expertise of our partners, Northwestel and Swedish Space Corporation. "With our LEO connectivity reaching coast to coast to coast, adding Yellowknife's site boosts our network's strength across Northern Canada, including the entire Arctic region." At the inauguration - which was also attended by Michael Proud, Shannon Gilbert, Harley McDonald and Paul Shrubshall - attendees received a demonstration of the technology and the connectivity it brings, as well as hearing what our low Earth orbit based satellite network can bring to Northern Canada and beyond.

Our first generation of more than 600 Eutelsat OneWeb LEO satellites has achieved a platinum rating in the Space Sustainability Rating (SSR), marking a significant recognition of the company's commitment to responsible space utilization 💚 First imagined at the World Economic Forum, the aim of the SSR is to reduce the creation of space debris, limit the risk of satellite collisions, and help ensure space operations are managed safely and sustainably. The rating is based on six modules across operations, design and risk. Achieving a platinum score - which is the highest-level rating - underscores Eutelsat Group's dedication to prioritizing sustainable design and operations of the constellation. Commenting on the news, Eva Berneke, CEO of Eutelsat Group, said: "With our increased presence in both LEO and geostationary orbit (GEO), we remain committed to the sustainable and responsible use of space. "We are honoured to receive SSR’s recognition and congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication to sustainable and safe operations."

Introducing Eutelsat OneWeb's new demo facility at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada 🍁   This week, we welcomed representatives from the Government of Canada; industry partners and local service providers; as well as members of the Carleton faculty, to our new lab, where our Canada team showcased the capabilities of our network across our wide suite of user terminals.   At our launch event, guests received demonstrations of the power of our high-speed low latency low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, which is active today across all of Canada – from coast to coast and even across the entire Arctic. Speaking at the event, Howard H W Stanley, our VP for Canada, said: “Canada brings unique terrain alongside several isolated communities and remote businesses. Parts of this country have traditionally been challenging to connect, but thanks to our completed LEO constellation, we are able to provide even the most remote areas with connectivity fit for modern life.   “We are delighted to be opening this new facility, allowing us to showcase how space is the future for communications on Earth.”   We’re looking forward to welcoming guests to the facility in the future – and if you would like to get in touch, please reach out to Michael Redmond or Howard H W Stanley if you have a project requiring connectivity you’d like to partner on in our lab.   Thank you to all those joined for our inaugural event!
