In 2023 alone, we successfully collected and reconditioned 6,691 IBCs, preventing them from becoming waste. By reusing instead of relying solely on new packaging, we’ve made significant strides in reducing our environmental footprint. 🌍 This is just one example of how we are constantly innovating and expanding our efforts to reduce waste and minimise our environmental impact. Ceramides are valuable active ingredients that can be used for both areas, but they need to be used in the right dosage. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗟𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀 /𝗠𝗕 offers a particularly high active ingredient content, whereby the ceramides are perfectly embedded in the uppermost skin layer to strengthen the barrier. The demand for holistic #wellbeing products is increasing, so that even entire body care products like to use ceramides and are advertised on the packaging. The ceramide content may be lower. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗟𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 are recommended here. 🌍 In the world of chemical distribution, managing industrial waste has long been a significant challenge. Traditionally, thousands of containers were used once and then discarded, contributing to growing waste and environmental impact. At OQEMA, we recognised early on that this approach wasn’t sustainable and took proactive steps to change it. One key initiative was returning and cleaning our drums and IBCs for reuse. As our operations grew, we partnered with Mauser Packaging Solutions to scale up our efforts. This collaboration has significantly increased the amount of packaging we collect and recondition, leading to substantial savings in natural resources and carbon emissions—based on Mauser’s internal estimates and LCA studies—compared to scenarios where only new packaging is used.
