Introducing, Oxbury non-executive director and commercial cereal farmer, Richard Percy, who has been farming on Cottingham Farm in the Chilterns for over 40 years. Featuring Oxbury's Head of Sustainble Banking, Carolien Samson. Across the UK, many businesses have published their NetZero targets to comply with the Climate Change Act and farmers are being asked to provide evidence on their carbon status. In 2023, we embarked on a case study with Richard and his son Henry, who co-manages the farm, to gather the farm’s carbon emissions and storage data. The results showed that commercial farmers can produce crops while storing more carbon than is emitted, whilst meeting supply chain obligations and creating new opportunities. This week, Elin is in the hot seat to answer questions about her background in farming, joining Oxbury in 2022 as a placement student through Aberystwyth University and securing a full time role after graduation to kick start her career! When describing what she likes most about her role, Elin says that "no two days are the same! I enjoy being able to support fellow farmers to achieve their goals and ambitions as well as supporting them through the tougher times."
