Oxford Stadium is a multi-purpose sports and events venue situated in Cowley, Oxford. It first opened in 1939 and hosted speedway and greyhound racing for 73 years before closing in 2012. In June 2021, Oxford Stadium Manager Director Kevin Boothby secured a 10-year lease to return the venue to its former glory. It will re-open in early 2022 as part of a major regeneration programme. The stadium will host greyhound racing and speedway, but also establish itself as an inclusive community hub open seven days a week. Facilities will include a café, three dance studios, office space, a panorama restaurant, sports bar and a leisure hub managed by a mental health and wellbeing charity.
