It was an inspiring session with a talented and energised group of leaders! 🙌 We’re thrilled to share some wonderful feedback from the workshop—check out the video below to see what our clients had to say! 🎥👇 You can also find out more about what the workshop involved here: https://lnkd.in/e5ThGGsi Our clients understand that culture is key to strategy delivery, engagement, and retention. Creating cultures where people love to work and customers love to do business #performance #culture #change #engagement

It's been a busy first week back to normal routine, with two trips to Liverpool and one to London. I'm lucky to look forward to work on a Sunday night - it's thanks to working with progressive clients who understand the power of working on their culture, and a community of partners and associates who keep me learning! Some highlights this week 💥 Playing back the insights and recommendations from our culture assessment 💥 In doing so, raising awareness of the organisation's immense strengths 💥 Seeing the advantage that diversity and inclusion brings to a fast growing charity 💥 Spending time with our client L&D networks - small, intimate groups (in-person) are so valuable - space to be fully open, share challenges and chew over solutions 💥 Facilitating the latest module on our high-potential leadership programme 💥 Exploring techniques to manage stress and build resilience 💥 Putting a multi-cultural lens on the skill of straight-talking 💥 Connecting with regulators to help shape our Leading Culture from the Boardroom Masterclass Once again it strikes me that working with a wide range of clients across many different sectors brings real value to the work we do. AND every week I learn as much as I share 💕 (including how to recover recently deleted photos 😅 - but that was from my 14-year old 😂 ) #culture #change #performance Pecan Partnership

🎙️ Have you tuned in to our Cracking Culture Change podcast yet?   In Season 2, we had the pleasure of hosting an insightful conversation between Pecan’s Ella Overshott and Harriet Oppenheimer, Chief Executive of RNID.   RNID, a fantastic charity established over a century ago, supports the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss, or live with tinnitus.   What's particularly inspiring is RNID's forward-thinking approach to hybrid working, which began long before the pandemic. By September 2021, they transitioned to fully remote work—a move that has proven not only feasible but transformative. It’s enhanced their talent acquisition and retention, improved service quality, and fostered a strong organisational culture.   RNID calls this approach ‘digital working’, where colleagues work remotely across all four nations of the UK, meeting in person three times a year for residential ‘staff summits.’ 🏡🤝   In this episode, Harriet shares valuable insights on their journey—highlighting the benefits, the role of intentionality, and the importance of language as they continue to refine their strategy.   💬 “Be intentional, and do it for the right reasons... You have to build a positive, exciting, and valuable reason for being part of an organisation,” says Harriet.   At Pecan, we fully embrace hybrid working and are passionate about helping organisations develop effective strategies that enable remote teams to thrive. If you feel your current approach could use some refinement, let’s connect!   🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://bit.ly/40aAzOV   #OrganisationalCulture #RemoteWorking #HybridWorking #Leadership

The quote "Culture is to recruiting as product is to marketing" from HubSpot's Culture Code emphasises the critical role that a company's culture plays in attracting and retaining talent (similar to how a product's quality and appeal are essential in attracting and retaining customers in marketing). In marketing, the product or service is the central focus — its features, benefits, and value proposition entice customers. If the product (or service) is strong, marketing efforts are more likely to succeed because there is an inherent value that appeals to the target audience. Similarly, an organisation that prioritises employee experience is more likely to attract talent whose values align with the company’s, and in turn strengthening the culture. In essence, just as marketers rely on a great product to drive success, recruiters depend on a strong culture to attract and retain the best talent. Of course, it's easier to identify when a product has failed; metrics and figures provide clear indicators. Spotting a wayward culture, however, may not be as straightforward, but the signs — such as high turnover and the tolerance of undesirable behaviours — will be there. Can you say with certainty that your organisation prioritises its culture with as much rigor as it does its product, service or niche? At Pecan, we can help you strike the perfect balance, enabling you to create an organisation where employees love to work and customers love to do business. We believe this winning combination forms the foundation of any organisation’s success.

Developing the Next Generation of Leaders 🌱 The future leaders of your organisation are those employees with the aspiration and potential to lead. In a world marked by economic turbulence, sustainability challenges, and the ever-growing demands of new and unfamiliar technology, these emerging leaders must be equipped to navigate complex landscapes. They need to be masters of change and resilience, capable of shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future while staying ahead of the competition. At Pecan, we’ve had the privilege of coaching young leaders in their 20s, many of whom work in fast-growing SMEs. For some, this is their first job since university, yet they hold positions of significant responsibility, often working independently or leading small teams of equally inexperienced peers. However, the lack of formal leadership programs in many organisations adds to the challenges these young leaders face. Even the most energetic and passionate aspiring leaders may struggle without structured training and guidance. Existing leaders, though rich in knowledge and experience, are often too time-constrained to mentor effectively. This is where our coaching sessions come into play, providing tailored support to help young leaders thrive. Our 1:1 coaching sessions cover key leadership topics such as: ✔ Strategic Focus: Rearranging time, priorities, and delegation to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operations. ✔ Confidence Building: Overcoming imposter syndrome by developing enabling beliefs. ✔ Career Development: Crafting personalised career and development plans. ✔ Problem-Solving: Navigating challenging situations and conversations with a wider range of options. ✔ Negotiation Skills: Achieving win-win outcomes in negotiations. Collaboration: Enhancing collaboration by leveraging strengths in oneself and others. ✔ Influence: Building influence at the board, sector, and regulatory levels. The potential outcomes for your business are substantial: 📈 Developing new business offshoots with the potential to significantly increase scale and profit. 💰 Resolving long-standing contractual issues, potentially saving tens of millions of pounds. If you or one of your leaders could benefit from this type of support, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s work together to cultivate the leaders your organisation needs for a successful future.

With holiday season drawing to a close, holiday destinations have been a hot topic here at Pecan 🏝 Now that most of our team has enjoyed their summer adventures, it’s been fascinating to see how differently we all like to unwind (we love celebrating uniqueness!). Our Co-Director, Ella, just returned from the breath-taking mountains, where she recharged with long walks and fresh mountain air. Meanwhile, Co-Director Andrew opted for a quiet picturesque golfing retreat with friends and clients. And our Marketing Assistant, Kirsty, embraced late nights and muddy boots at a family festival with her two young children. How do you prefer to spend your well-earned breaks? Are you team Ella, Andy, or Kirsty? Or perhaps a mix of all three? #CultureVulture #OutOfOffice #Downtime

Purposeful Leadership - what is it, what are the benefits for leaders, and why is it key for organisations? Ella Overshott, Co-founder and Director of Pecan Partnership, shares her views, experience, and advice on why Purposeful Leadership matters and how to put it into practice. Ella says: “Purposeful Leadership is about having your own, inner ‘north star’, rooted in your personal values and beliefs about why you exist and the impact you want to have on the world. It’s about creating alignment between that and the Purpose of your organisation and using this to guide your decision-making, behaviours and actions, rather than serving your own needs.” Read the full article here >>>> http://bit.ly/3H8NLfe Alyson Chadwick Hedgehog #betterleaders #purposefulleadership #healthyhighperformance

Right plant, right place? 🌹 At Pecan, we believe that one size does not fit all, especially when it comes to organisational culture. O.C. Tanner identifies at least eight distinct culture profiles that organisations may embody, each with its own unique dynamics (much like personalities, but of the organisation):   - Adhocracy Culture - Emphasises innovation and embraces risk. - Clan Culture - Functions like a close-knit family, fostering strong relationships. - Customer-Focused Culture - Prioritises customer experience, empowering employees to put the customer first. - Hierarchy Culture - Operates within a structured framework of roles and responsibilities. - Market-Driven Culture - Concentrates on bringing products or services to market swiftly. - Purpose-Driven Culture - Driven by a compelling, motivating purpose. - Innovative Culture - Constantly generates new and cutting-edge ideas. - Creative Culture - Dedicated to daily creation of new products, stories, or services. Learn more about these culture profiles here: https://bit.ly/3WKgoXJ Whilst it is rare that companies fit neatly into any of the boxes mentioned above, it's crucial to recognise that what works for one might not work for another. For example, a small, family-run business might thrive in a Clan Culture, whilst a market leader like Amazon might be better suited to a Market-Driven Culture. At Pecan, we take the time to really get under the skin of your organisation to understand what makes you unique, tailoring our approach to meet your specific needs. As Alexander Den Heijer wisely said, “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” Just like a skilled gardener considers soil, light, water, and climate, we consider factors such as as company ambition, goals size, structure, location and demographics. Discover more about our approach here: https://bit.ly/3X2Ciqx Are all of your plants in the right place, and are the conditions allowing them to thrive?
