    🎬 Last night, the powerful and moving film, Kids Like Us, was seen for the first time on the big screen – and we at pladis were incredibly proud to sponsor the global premiere in world-famous Leicester Square, London. Kids Like Us follows the courageous journeys of eight extraordinary children from the UK and US, each facing the unimaginable challenge of battling cancer.     🌟 Our new Godiva Chocolatier Café and store has officially opened its doors at the world’s second-largest mall, located in Dubai. This isn't just any café – it's a chocolate lover's dream, featuring the UAE’s first GODIVA chocolate fountain taps and a dessert bar! 🍫✨ To celebrate, we hosted a VIP event with GODIVA's Chef Chocolatier, Ilse Wilmots, and hosted by President, Steve Lesnard.     Initiatives like our International Work Experience Week give bright young talent a front-row seat to the exciting world of snacking. And we’ve just wrapped up our second annual edition, where 20 talented students from the UK, France and the Netherlands joined us for an inspiring journey of discovery, learning and collaboration. Highlights included 16 talks and workshops, Q&A sessions with our UK & Ireland Managing Director (MD), David Murray, Chief HR Officer, Geraldine Fraser and MD of our Western Europe and Emerging Markets region, Tim Brett, tours of our bakeries in Harlesden, Halifax, Wigston and Manchester, and some seriously impressive student presentations on connecting our loved brands and products with the next generation.     As proud custodians of brands such as McVitie’s and Ülker, we know a thing or two about dunking! But colleagues at our HQ in London received a new kind of dunking lesson – wheelchair basketball with London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club, who we proudly sponsor!   Joined by Ade Adepitan, a member of our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Board and part of the Titans starting line-up, our colleagues got to experience the thrill and skill of the UK’s biggest Paralympic sport first-hand. Witnessing the London Titans’ triumphs this year has been a privilege, and our partnership is deeply rooted in the shared goal of creating more equal opportunities for all. It was an inspiring day, spent with some truly extraordinary athletes who embody resilience and excellence.

Ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games kicking off in Paris next month, Ülker has teamed up with the Turkish National Paralympic Committee, to champion athletes with disabilities and inspire future generations in Türkiye.     Calling all football fans! We teamed up with the Turkish Football Federation to launch a game-changing project just for girls under 15 – the Ülker Stars of the Future programme.   It champions equal opportunity in sports, offering emerging female footballers the platform to hone their talents and pursue their dreams of representing their country.   Last week, Mehmet Uçan was invited to share his experiences of leading this programme at the British Consulate in Türkiye.
